Boxox placement - first time and unsure!

So I’ve just been for a consultation. She was nice and I didn’t feel pressured. I’ve seen her work on a family member and it looks great. She marked the placement and suggested 50 units with room for more if I felt I needed it at the week 2 review.

I am very worried about having a heavy brow after, my eyes are SO hooded already it would just look horrendous if they were droopier.

I have never had ANY kind of injectable or skin treatment. Is 50 units a high starting dose? Are the ones around the eyebrows going to cause brow drop? Help! 😅

(very hastily taken selfie included!)

Nigel Farage has hooded eyes - you do not!

She did mention this was a risk and that she would correct it for me if it happened. Do you think I should avoid upper forehead? So scary to be stuck with it if it goes heavy!

Avoid upper forehead as it will drop your eyebrows.

But another poster said they inject high up to avoid this!

No but if you’re young why worry about having fillers and Botox ?

Have you never been outside? Or even seen the internet? Full of young women filling their faces with things they don’t need.

OP I agree with those saying you don’t need anything, you look lovely. Though my eyes are similar and I would class as hooded when it comes to applying makeup, winged eyeliner is a nightmare!

Yes I have, it’s sad

DaphneduM · 11/02/2026 17:09

You look so young and lovely - I hope you will have a re-think. You really don't need to start messing about with your beautiful, fresh face.

Botoxbaby · 11/02/2026 19:00

Thank you everyone for being so lovely! I’m going to sit on it for now and have a think.

I have hooded eyes and have been having Botox for about 7 years. I’m 51.

I remember my first appointment was described as “baby Botox”. I was warned about the risk of eyebrows dropping so the nurse started with a small amount fairly high on my forehead. As she said “It’s like cooking, you can add more as you go but you can’t take it out!”

I honestly don’t think you need Botox yet and you definitely don’t have hooded eyes but, if you do decide to proceed, I’d suggest you have a small amount high up to start and see how you go.

PhaedraWas · 11/02/2026 20:40

OP, you don't have hooded eyes. You look about 30.

Personally I don't think anyone needs Botox, but you definitely don't.

Jessica60 · 12/02/2026 06:57

Hi, what kind of places are people going to for botox. I don't want to risk with some dodgy

Keroppi · 12/02/2026 06:59

Try tret first

autumn1610 · 12/02/2026 07:05

@Botoxbaby I won’t say you don’t need it as it’s personal choice, however I went with my area of concern and like you came out with dots all over my face and I didn’t go back to that person. As they clearly weren’t listening to me. Yours maybe different as my area was between my brows, but the amount they wanted to put in my face I wasn’t comfortable with and not the look i wanted. Genuinely just want my 11’s gone I don’t mind my eye creases and my forehead creases

Anyway I do get it done - they inject between my brows and then above my brows I think I get around 4-5 injection spots in total. My brows sometimes do feel really heavy and one time one dropped. I go roughly twice a year if that (just one was June and had it done this week) and the results are subtle

DuchessofStaffordshire · 12/02/2026 07:58

Gosh, you're so young and you look it too! Honestly, I wouldn't go there. You look great. I think that sometimes we notice a mild imperfection or change and then become a bit fixated on it which amplifies it and makes us feel that we need to make changes.

SisterTeatime · 12/02/2026 08:10

I’d have guessed your age at no more than 35 from that pic.

I genuinely think your money would be better spent on a colour consultation. I had a really basic online one done, by Francesca Cairns (Image Consultant Maidenhead on Instagram), for £80 a couple of years ago. It’s made a huge difference to my confidence choosing colours and especially with makeup. I’ve got the colours on my phone and refer to them when shopping.

Im not ruling out Botox for myself (I’m 50) and not against it at all, but I really, really don’t think you need it.

Chiefangel · 12/02/2026 08:12

You are young and pretty and really don’t need it.
Please rethink it all. This also worries me because if you’re struggling with your looks now, then you are really going to struggle with ageing.

User253853 · 12/02/2026 08:15

Op you do not have hooded eyes. You can clearly see your eyelids

if you have Botox however there is a risk that the relaxation of your forehead muscles will mean you do get hooded eyes for the duration of the Botox (circa 4 months or so)

mypinkdog · 12/02/2026 08:55

I can't see where you need Botox.

sausagepastapot · 12/02/2026 08:59

You do look lovely, but if you want Botox- go for it. It will stop your lines getting worse quickly, and give you more time to age gracefully...!

I love getting it done, and my aesthetician is an expert in giving you enough to keep your face moving but almost completely eliminate all lines. Just make sure you go to a very reputable aesthetician with real results.

The bonus is it only lasts for 3-4 months so if you hate it, it will completely go by then.

I love it- it has made me so much more confident, and I don't necessarily 'need' it yet (39) but it certainly is keeping me looking younger, and miles less liney than my friends who don't get Botox.

I get my forehead, bridge of the nose and 11's done, won't ever stop now...!

RainySundayAfternoon · 12/02/2026 09:51

Botoxbaby · 11/02/2026 13:58

You can’t really see the forehead lines in that pic there as it’s slightly blurry but they are there! That is mainly what I went in to address.

Have had a couple of people I don’t know well genuinely confuse me for a mid 50s colleague recently and someone guessed me at 45 (unsolicited guess! I am 36).

Quite frankly these people are idiots! As others have said, you have a young looking, fresh face - no need for Botox whatsoever! Don’t do it OP 😊

whattheysay · 12/02/2026 13:31

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 11/02/2026 15:06

Avoid upper forehead as it will drop your eyebrows.

This should not happen if both forehead and frown are done at the same time. Just doing forehead will relax the brow down and cause it to look heavy but by injecting the frown lines it sort of relaxes up which counteracts the drop of the forehead
The injections for the forehead should be higher up as too far down can cause drop

Allseeingallknowing · 12/02/2026 14:26

Apart from not needing it, it is expensive!

MeganM3 · 12/02/2026 14:33

OP you have lovely skin! You look really fresh faced and young. I’m mid 30s and I do get a little by my eyes.

I would worry that your forehead is quite prominent and with Botox it will appear shiny and flat which will make it look bigger. Youre perfect without. Taking collegen if you’re worried about skin elasticity is a good shout, it did wonders for me for the first year I took it and I’ve heard some people like Profilo injections for boosting fresh skin. Botox really does change a persons appearance and not always for the better.

Joliefolie · 12/02/2026 21:51

No one on here has any reason to be 'kind' to you. No matter what you decide to do, I hope you are listening to the fact that lots of people are honestly telling you absolutely do not look older than mid-30s. Really. If you want to treat your first fine lines (that we can't see in the photo but you say are there) then you could go for botox but actually focusing on skincare (sign up to something like skin + me maybe?) is totally enough for you - you do not look prematurely aged! People in an office confusing you with an older female colleague is not about how old your face looks - it's literally nothing to do with that, please don't take that kind of thing seriously.

Userxyd · 12/02/2026 21:54

I thought this was the after pic till I read your post! You don’t need it

CharlieMM1 · 12/02/2026 22:00

What on earth! You don't have hooded eyes (in any way, genuinely confused). You look young. I don't really understand why this woman didn't tell you just to go home and that it wasn't needed
