A smoothing skin enhancer? Does it exist?

I don't mean a foundation.
I used to have something around 2010 in a small red pot, might have been clarins, might have been a beauty balm? It was great because it was transparent but actually made my skin look a TON smoother.

Is there anything new around now that might be better than that?
I've been out of the loop for years as only wear concealer and mascara these days but would love to know what options there are.

I have normal skin, quite pale, am early 50's.

I am in the clarins price range so nothing to expensive preferably!

Yes, that market has moved a huge amount since then. Look up primers there are loads and loads. Probably best going in a few stores to try some on your hand.

I am your age and tone and I love the Victoria Beckham clear one. I think it’s called Skin Enhancer, it’s recently changed name

Thank you, I will look at that!
So primers are similar to the older beauty balm?
Are they better?
I have so many questions Grin

I loved how the old one just magically reduced pores or uneven skin almost immediately.
Where have I been all these years??

That was L’Oréal magic blur. Replaced w inferior product. It was like a smoothing ‘putty’ that smoothed and sunk it. Miss it’s miracle work

Or it might well have been Clarins, because I used to use it too. They also did one with a bronze tinge for when you had a tan - fake or otherwise. They still do the clear one in the red pot but the formula may have changed.

I haven’t used it for years but loved it. Not sure why I stopped!
