New thread because we can't stop chit-chatting and failing our low buy resolutions.

Everyone welcome to join in, new and old alike. This thread is a bad influence zone though so be warned all who enter! 😂

@JoRaRaRa Good thinking - I’ll have a rummage in the kitchen! 🤣
The Fuschia fizz one looks lovely but I know I’d be too heavy handed with it. I’m waiting for the Nude Lavalliere to be back on offer - originally passed on it thinking it wouldn’t suit me, then realised it would 😅

@IlovePond It’s worth contacting the sellers as I have previously been asked to change postage options and it’s easy to do.

@keepincool It’s the Zelens melatonin B12. I hadn’t yet tried it as I’ve only just bought it but I read up on it when the BACs came out and liked the sound of it

OvaHere · 15/02/2026 20:57

@IlovePond Vinted can also be glitchy. I've had a weird thing over the last couple of months where I have various postage options set but it would only display Evri for buyers.

Thank you @Thelifeofawife - I've found it 😊

TragicMuse · 15/02/2026 22:21

I like the B12 and am using it nightly - my face does feel nice at the moment!

IlovePond · 15/02/2026 23:11

Thanks @Thelifeofawife and @OvaHere

It’s a nice product.

That was a good price for Thameen as it is around £200 for the 50ml bottle in Harrods. It is a really nice fragrance but my DH is a bit too fond of it for himself.
The Roja perfume is lovely but I agree that it seems more of a spring/summer fragrance.

@pinkchampagne1 Yeah I was pleased with that price. I've looked at the dorade to maybe purchase a backup of that too but I think I'm being silly. If I keep buying all these backup fragrances, I'll spend a load of money and could've bought myself one I really like but I don't have in my collection.

@BlueLimes i don't think it's too early for ac talk 😍 in fact, this is the first month since July that I've not bought an AC 🙈 yet...

@Thelifeofawife Yes, go and have a good rummage. It'll probably turn up when you're looking for something else.

We must all be used to getting a load of blush on our brushes and it's just not needed anymore 🤣 I am a bit worried that if I get it, with it being bright pink, it might look more clown like on me then rosy glow chic 🤭

MrsBnow12 · 16/02/2026 07:31

There are a couple of Pat McGrath eye palettes at TK Maxx - the Belle of the Ball Bridgerton collab is £25

IlovePond · 16/02/2026 08:00

Thanks @MrsBnow12 - they look pretty.

Also at TK Maxx online today:

MZ Skin LED eye patches
ERTH LED mask
Morphe palettes
Grown Alchemist
Rodial
Charlotte Tilbury
Glow Recipe
Drunk Elephant
Medicube
Biodance

I am tempted by some of the KBeauty stuff, but am holding firm atm!

JoRaRaRa · 16/02/2026 08:08

I'm tempted by the Pat Mcgrath palette, but I'm really trying to stay strong! Last night I bought the new Byoma mask from SpaceNK, it had 20% off and I had a £5 reward voucher so it came to £8 😍 And I also bought the new Patrick Ta concealer from Cult Beauty 😊

IlovePond · 16/02/2026 08:36

Also at TK MAXX today:

Spectrum brushes
Skin 1004
Purito
Glossier lip products
Tocobo
Kerastase

Ah you lovely (and dangerous!) lot... It took me ages to catch up on the AC thread after a very busy December month with work. Then trying to keep on top of this series (from, probably, two threads ago). Then my app stopped working, I can't log in. I tried to use the website version of mumset on my phone which is utter shite and really frustrating. I have, finally, managed to login to my account on my desktop computer. I don't like the web version but it's a lot better than the website version on my phone.

Anyway... what I really, really wanted to say it:
Thank you for keeping this thread going, it is gold. Very informative not just on offers but skincare and makeup in general. Also re-assuring to know I'm not alone with my skincare obsession and ridiculous spending.
I also wanted to say thank you very much to @MrsBnow12 for the offer of Payot product from months ago. I might try their AC next year from Notino as it is skincare I am more interested in much more than bodycare. But you were incredibly kind to offer at the time.

I am in a very fortunate position of having zero interest in makeup and fancy haircare so, as much as I love looking at all the pretty makeup offers from here, I managed not to order anything. I was tempted for the pretty factor but would have been wasted on me. I have a few basics I use regularly and amp up my makeup for special events but my existing collection covers current requirements. Obviously some very old stuff in there but they still seem to work fine and that will do.

I find it very overwhelming seeing this constant stream of offers from all websites and I often don't understand them. By the time I seriously consider placing an order, the deals are gone. So I have not ordered any skincare edits whatsoever for such a long time. I have terrible FOMO (is this the term?) but I tell myself I am being sensible.

The annoying thing has been that I and a lot of big real life bills since the start of the year. Some expected (tax return, annual insurances but unexpected house repairs and vet bills). It's never ending at present. I am still setting aside my 'play money but am scared on using any of it until house repairs are out of the way. So, so, so boring!!! I have only bought what I use regularly and created a safety stock of things like Midik8 and Skinceuticals on offer or form Vinted finds. I am suspicious of a couple of Vinted purchases but there is always a risk there. So I have been on an un-intended and un-planned beauty buying ban.

My existing extensive beauty stash doesn't seem to reduce much in a way that I can see it with my own eyes, but I am trying my best to use what I can, when I can. I will, hopefully, not add too much to it this year.

Quite a while ago I developed an unexplained interest in Argentum products. A wise mumsnetter advised I try brands like Aurelia or Korean beauty instead to satisfy my interest in 'natural' effective beauty or gentle and effective skincare.
I haven't progressed much on the Korean beauty front. Too much to learn and my heart is still with French products. Aurelia didn't really work for my skin.
Against better judgment, I have, very, very slowly, build up an entire collection of Argentum products. I even tried all the fragrances (which I didn't like). But the skin care and their body lotion are very nice. I even have the brushes. Stockpiled enough to see me through using this brand a long time.
But, but, but ... there is something strange in that their website has been out of action for a while, they branched out to hotel supply and there has been a change in ownership, their Instagram has not not been updated for a long time and their shop in Notting Hill appears to have closed as well. Too much curiosity led me to do a bit of googling and that's what I make of the current situation.
Are they disappearing? Does anyone know? I like everything about them, from packaging to products and, especially, the ritualistic and calming process of using the products.

OvaHere · 16/02/2026 09:31

Hi @Branster nice to see you still around. You sound far too sensible for this thread. 😂Well done on resisting the FOMO.

I don't think I've really heard of Argentum so I can't help with any info unfortunately. Maybe I've seen the odd product in an edit? Not really sure

Tried the MZ rich cream, very thick, pot seemed a little short on product. Doesn't go on greasy though I think this will be good for day time too. Skin has a couple of red bumps though, they'll go quickly but I think it's too rich for me. Skin is moisturised and not greasy/oily, looks fine. I can use on neck, but at £165 rrp that will be it.

Want to try the medik8 peptides serum as it has such good reviews, been trying to use up Lancomes genefique serum before switching, I don't think the Lancome is doing anything which is shame.

JoRaRaRa · 16/02/2026 09:56

@Hicupping I did a bit of research on the Lancome Genefique serum when I bought the Lancome holiday box. It's a really good barrier support and keeps everything balanced and your skin hydrated, so it's a good one for winter. It doesn't really help with anti-aging though.

Is it the Medik8 Peptides serum from the SpaceNk ac? I'm just using up the orveda that I received in the Harrods 2024 ac and then I'm moving onto that medik8 serum, I'm looking forward to it, I'm expecting great things!

I'm currently using the mz skin eye cream, that's quite thick too, I do like it though. Maybe you could make your day cream more of a night cream if it's too rich?

Is the MZ rich cream a similar consistency to the MZ eye cream? I'm using the eye cream at the moment and that's also quite thick but I like it.

I was wondering because I started using this from the stash as my day cream and it seems virtually identical in texture to the MZ eye cream I'm using. So maybe a good dupe if similar to MZ Rich Cream?

So far I'm rating the Summer Friday Cream quite highly. It seems good. Rich and hydrating but absorbs well and doesn't pill.

What do you make of the Orveda serum? I have recently used it and thought it was nice enough but it didn’t wow me considering the ridiculous price it is.
I looking forward to trying the peptides serum too. I didn’t get the SNK calendar but bought a bottle from the SNK store when it opened in Canterbury. I had to spend £100 to receive a goody bag you see 😆

Hicupping · 16/02/2026 10:05

That's what I was hoping for the Genifique but I don't think it's done any of that. It certainly hasn't compromised it though. Might be one of those items you don't realise until you stop. Dislike the pipette too it either delivers too much or too little so you end up with too much.
Medik8 from the SNK heard nothing but good so fingers crossed. Still umming and ahhing over the Tatcha vit c serum, I'm not convinced my skin likes vit c anymore plus essential oils in it.
I was using the MZ at night running fingers over skin my cheeks are a bit bumpy so might try around eyes.

I had this Summer Friday cream from a cult edit a while back. Sold it on vinted, probably too cheap, but had so much. Maybe I should have kept! 😂

I like the orveda for the barrier repair, it’s lovely to use and my skin definitely behaves really well when I’m using it, but I wouldn’t say it gives that wow factor you expect for the price. I tend to use it the day after the ubeauty resurfacing compound to help repair my skin. It would be nice if it also made your skin glow, as I have to layer another serum for the glow.

I think the Medik8 Peptides will be great for firmness and overall skin health, but I’m not sure it’ll give quite the same soothing, strengthening effect that the Orveda does. Still really excited to try it properly though!

A £100 spend is very reasonable when there’s a goody bag involved 💁🏻‍♀️🤣

BlueLimes · 16/02/2026 11:46

I unfortunately love the MZ creams. The eye cream does last ages.
@Hicupping have you tried the Tatcha night cream. It’s very moisturising and plumping.

Thelifeofawife · 16/02/2026 12:04

Re the TK Maxx bargains, I have my eye on the Pat McGrath luminous legends palette, I sent the link to my DS a few days ago to buy for my birthday as I’d like to try it out before splurging on the Mothership palette.

I also had the MZ skin hyaluronic serum and Rodial cleaning balm in my basket but I may give these a miss if DS buys the palette for me.

I didn’t see the PM belle of the ball palette, that must be new in stock. I don’t think I’d use all of the shades though so I’m safe.

@Hicupping I am currently using the Tatcha vitamin C serum, nearing the end of it. I like it, but I do prefer the Medik8 C-tetra and the rather spendy Dermalogica Biolumin-C serum

AprilLady · 16/02/2026 12:25

Just a quick one - while the TK Maxx price for the Bridgerton PMG palette is decent, the listing is very misleading. It did NOT retail for £119 - more like £50 or £60 if I remember correctly.

I thought that. There’s not much to it to have retailed for that, considering the Mothership ones are around that price

AprilLady · 16/02/2026 12:32

@Thelifeofawife I’m also a fan of the Dermalogica Biolumin C, but not prepared to pay RRP for it!

@JoRaRaRa I really like and have used Lancôme Genefique quite a bit before. I use it as I would any hyaluronic acid, rather than anything for anti aging.

TragicMuse · 16/02/2026 12:47

I need to go and get my birthday treat from SNK! And I have a £5 reward so now I’m wondering what the 20% might have to attract my attention!
