New thread because we can't stop chit-chatting and failing our low buy resolutions.

Everyone welcome to join in, new and old alike. This thread is a bad influence zone though so be warned all who enter! 😂

Hi,

I have just spent hours tidying up my current skincare. I have loads more in bags and cupboards, (and we won’t mention the make up), but I feel a bit better now I have tidied up and thrown a few more things away.

I am posting a picture, as no one in my RL will appreciate the Herculean effort I have made just to get one tiny section of my stash in reasonable order 😹

Note: I acquired an organiser at a bargain price. Not the colour I wanted and smaller than I thought - but my stash is a bit more organised than previously.

I should have done a ‘before’ pic as I suspect it may still look cluttered to those who are more minimalist than me 😹

Looks great @IlovePond

@IlovePond Looks a lot tidier than mine that’s for sure!
I have actually just got back from Aldi where I bought a couple of baskets to tidy around my bedside table (despite already having an organiser on the table, I have massively over spilled!)
I was also looking last night at some drawer towers, I am going to put one in my bedroom and one in the bathroom (again I have storage, but massive overspill!)

I love your Pokémon storage, it has my doggie on it - Eevee 🥰

I'm tempted by the Pat Mcgrath palette, but I'm really trying to stay strong! Last night I bought the new Byoma mask from SpaceNK, it had 20% off and I had a £5 reward voucher so it came to £8 😍 And I also bought the new Patrick Ta concealer from Cult Beauty 😊

Interested in your thoughts on the byoma mask when you try it, I didn't realise they'd come out with a mask!

I have a medik8 peptides from the spacenk calendar but I'm not sure if I'm the right audience for it yet. I'm early 30s and have very few lines so far (touch wood) - for the people who like it, I'm just wondering if anyone doesn't mind sharing their age range? I'd hate to open it and find it doesn't do much for me when I know I can get 40 quid for it on vinted 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thelifeofawife · 16/02/2026 17:25

@Willow742 I’m early 40s, I don’t have too many lines but I do have some and feel this does help soften them

Edited: However, if you do decide to sell, I’d happily pay £40 for it 😁

Thelifeofawife · 16/02/2026 17:33

Whilst I was in Aldi, I saw these. Presume they are dupes of Tatcha vitamin C. I got the eye cream as I really liked the Tatcha one, and I picked up a cleanser to try.

I stand corrected - I just opened the eye cream and the pot is clearly not duping Tatcha - it’s Ole Henriksen. I’ll give it a whirl, hopefully it’ll be a good one (if not I have about 5 from BACs to try!)

The mask was only released the other day, hopefully it'll get delivered tomorrow 🤞

I've just turned 38, I've got the Medik8 serum out to start tomorrow 😊 Peptides help keep collagen levels supported and skin strong and hydrated, so it’s the kind of thing that will keep your skin looking good. You probably wouldn’t get a huge wow moment from it, but that’s mainly because your skin already looks good! It’ll help maintain everything rather than correct anything 💁🏻‍♀️

I bought the Byoma mask when it came out. Cult Beauty had a it a bit earlier than other retailers. I think it's similar to the popular Medicube ones.

I've used it a couple of times and like it. Very satisfying to peel off. Reminds me of schooldays when we used to paint our hands with PVA glue so we could have fun peeling it off.

Leaves the skin with a nice glow. You do need to try and get an even layer across the face otherwise it dries unevenly. The spatula in the lid is a bit useless so a brush or other spatula would be better. Fingers work too but more messy.

@OvaHere Oh that’s given me goose bumps! I remember doing that at school too, we all loved the sensation.
Might have to investigate that mask now.

IlovePond · 16/02/2026 19:17

@Thelifeofawife I have some of the Aldi Vitamin C & turmeric oil on the go. I love it! I don’t know if they have it in-store atm.

I love Pokemon stuff, (I was more excited than the toddlers when I was lucky enough to visit the Pokemon Cafe years ago.) DS was mortified when I insisted on wearing the cardboard hat we were given on entry!

Oooo the wait list for the Look Fantastic Easter Egg is open. Exciting!! 🐰🌸 🐣

Last years was quite good I recall. Selfishly I'm hoping it's a bit rubbish this year then I won't be tempted. 😂

Dior have released some more eyeshadow palettes and now I can't decide if I want the blue one they're releasing or stick with getting the Chanel one in a few days! Too many options!

I'm excited about it, but it probably would be better for me too if it's pants! 🤣

I’ve just run off and bought the Byoma mask @OvaHere! I used to have a great Japanese peel off mask years ago but I’ve completely forgotten what it’s called and have no idea where to get it again - hopefully this has as satisfying a peel!

That's why I've gone for it, for the peel off 🤣 do you remember when virgin did skin care and makeup? Well my auntie was a seller for them and gifted me a peel off mask and I've liked them since, but I don't currently have one in my collection.

Thelifeofawife · 16/02/2026 19:39

@IlovePond I love the Pokémon hat! I’d do the same, and would get the same response from my DS 😅

I tried the Aldi vit C last year but I couldn’t get along with it, I think it was the smell of turmeric. Shame as I liked the glow it gave and I’d have much preferred that to be my favourite!

I'm using the Medicube Kojic Acid Turmeric Night Wrapping Mask which came with the Style Korean Lucky box. It also has a very satisfying peel 😁

Look fantastic advents are back in stock. Too late for the fragrance one...

Where on earth do they keep finding these - the back of the TARDIS or something?
