Help please. What colour shoes/bag?

What colour shoes and bag would you wear with a chocolate brown and white polka dot dress? Trying to avoid white.

Colour below for an example.

I saw a brown polka dot dress recently and was immediately taken back to that film, in a good way obvs.

It is a dressy occasion, I was thinking maybe gold.

Generally I don’t think shoes and bag should match, it’s quite a dated look. Saying that, I’m not sure what else I’d style it with. So maybe go for gold for both but try not to make them too matchy.

For a summer day time I’d go for espadrille wedges or similar but not if it’s dressy.

Sezane have lovely sandals that may suit.

For some reason, if for spring or summer, I’m imagining white sandals and an apple green bag.

I was going to say grass green. Nature is always helpful for colour schemes.

Id go bronze myself but I think nude would work

Blue (light) can look lovely with brown.

I have just bought a similar dress, to wear as an everyday dress in summer.I was thinking brown sandals. Hadn’t given any thought at all to a bag. Guess my blue canvas backpack from Next won’t work. A straw tote sounds lovely. Is it a bit of a cliche?

A light blue or duck egg blue would work too.

I am now leaning towards gold or bone colour. I don’t think I could pull off a colour with the dress. I agree I don’t usually like bag and shoes to match but I’m struggling to do different colours.

I have it in my head that gold could look a bit tacky, what do you think? I have narrowed down to these two. I can’t do really high heels and am limited because I need wider fit.

How tall are you?

im not tall so always keep your shoes the same colour as my tights, and a darker colour than my hem to distract from my feet and keep focus on my face.

my lovely 6’ plus friend is encouraged to do the opposite, and have shoes which draw attention to themselves.

I personally think the bone colour is classier than the gold. Not 100% sure on the style. I’m sort of seeing a raffia bag with this. Not the Chloe one that’s around though!

I wouldn’t wear gold with that dress… bronze maybe? Out of the two pairs you’ve pictured I much prefer the bone coloured ones.

I didn’t think about a woven or raffia type bag. I actually have this one and have these matching shoes in the same colour nude leather as the trim on the bag. Would this work?
