Socks and sandals

Are they ever acceptable. Ive seen models wearing them with various types of footwear including sandals.
Ive got some gorgeous gold sandals but its too cold to go out in them.
Im not a model but Im sure I could pull it off.
I have made poor fashion choices before so Ill ask you lot first.

In my opinion, socks with sandals never look good.

I walk the dog in socks and Birkenstock Arizonas but only in the dark!

I’ve not worn socks and sandals since I was at primary school back in the 70s.

Very fashionable in North America.

Gosh, I’ve been dressing in socks and sandals all this century probably. Brown suede Topshop platform sandals c. 2007, with a three inch block heel? Perfect with grey silk mid calf socks. Birkenstock clogs? Add a crunchy YMC wool silk and cotton mix. Clumpy Grenson sandals? Ridiculously pretty olive oil coloured Margaret Howell wool.

I dunno - there was a point where this style was all over Vogue, worn by lithe teenage models and middle aged Italian fashion editors alike. It obviously struck a chord with me and I can’t be persuaded to give it up.
