Basic long sleeve cotton T-shirt

Looking for basic cotton long sleeve top that has a neck that isn’t baggy or too low, sleeves that fit, and is snug. Every one I’ve tried is the right size but doesn’t fit to the skin and any size smaller is just tight and uncomfortable.

Any recommendations? Is my problem that I prefer 100% cotton. They are for base layer so need to fit nicely. High street price range. Thanks!

M & S £10, John Lewis were a little more, and Uniqlo. I have some from all 3. The better ones were JL with 1 - 2% elastane. They kept their shape.

I like the M&S thermal ones in the thinnest fabric, although they do have a scoop neck.

Thanks all 😊! It must be a need perhaps for a bit of elastane. It’s surprising how uncomfortable a poorly fitting long top is.
