Dr Martens Advice

I treated myself to some Dr Martens in the sales after Christmas. I’ve got the Spence (block heel Chelsea boot). I’m undecided if they are for me or not and will need to return soon if I’m not keeping them. Do you get used to the weight of them quickly and do they really soften as much as people say?

I don't get used to shoes that aren't comfortable immediately.
If you find them too heavy, there are quite a few styles that aren't heavy.

I don't have that style, but I have a lot of DMs and I'm always surprised when I take them off at the end of the day at how heavy they are when I pick them up, I don't feel they're heavy when wearing.

I dont have the Spence but do have the Kendra which is similar. They are my go to for everyday comfort. They dont feel heavy to me and definately lighter than some of my other boots. They are a bit stiff when new but that goes. I love them.
