I have a black m&s number I bought on vinted three years ago

But my beautiful mum has died and I feel I want something - er - up a level - as it's my mum

I'm sadly a size 18 as I just had a baby so I am shaped a bit like a potato

Can anyone help?

Was there anything you can recall she liked you in? Or is there a theme in your mind for her funeral? Like favourite colour or flowers etc?
Im so sorry for your loss, please don’t call yourself names though- you just had a baby and your body is amazing to have done that!! Be kind to yourself.

When my Dad died ( in Covid ) I got a bargain black dress from M&S it was less than £15 ) I think my Dad would've been approving .
"Why would you spend £££ ? " he'd have said .

You are in a very fragile and vulnerable state losing your Mum - so sorry for your loss .
I was there last year my Mum died . I bought a dress from Ebay ,(BNWT) I think she'd have approved .. I don't wear smart dresses at work for example . I thought I'd hate the dress afterwards knowing the purpose it was bought for .
TBH , not everyone wore black . And I wasn't the focus , my Mum was .
But you want to do yourself proud don't you ? And honour your Mum by making an effort .

If this dress you have is smart and you feel comfortable in it then go with that . You want your clothing to be the least of your worries , you;ll have so much on your mind on the day

No suggestions, (maybe need a bit more info, budget, length you prefer, etc), but agree with PP.
don’t be so hard on yourself. To your mum, you are always beautiful, I’m sure.

I’m sorry for your loss Flowers

Hello and thanks for your very kind words.

After what posters had said I remembered that Mum had said I looked lovely in the vinted dress for Nana's funeral, so I decided to wear it, though I put a swimming costume underneath for a smoother silhouette!!

I added a brooch I bought her for Christmas just gone, and items of jewellery she had given me as presents.
I think she liked it and I read out a tribute in church for my wonderful, amazing Mum.

My sister looked fantastic in a dress I am about to go and Google for myself!

Sounds perfect @TiffanyLampOnAnd well done for being able to do the tribute.

I hope the day went well.
