Contouring - how do you do it !

I’m 56 followers away from various insta accounts to try and make my make up look good and it seems that to do this you basically have to paint by numbers on your face ! Theres foundations bits, concealer bits where I wouldn’t usually feel I need concealer ! Blush bits along with contour in a dark brown bits and then highlighted bits that before you get to eyes and lips - I’m lost ! Any easy ideas insta is losing me …,,

You absolutely don’t have to do any/all of the bits you mention but for easy explanation
contour goes where shadow would fall on your face so under cheekbones but only about an inch from hairline otherwise it can make your face look sagging
bronzer goes where the sun would naturally hit your face so forehead, nose, top of cheeks
highlighter is the very top of cheekbones, arch told brow, bridge of nose etc
blush is usually the apple of the cheek but I wear it a bit further back on my cheeks to lift my face a bit
concealer is used to brighten and spot conceal.

it’s a bit of a minefield and blending is key to get a seamless look but has to be carefully done so the different shades done mix too much and look dirty.

keep looking on social media for a makeup artist/keen makeup wearer of roughly your age or style you like and the follow any tutorials.

one thing to mention, contour should be a cooler times brown to limit the shadows effects and bronzer should be warmer reddy brown to mimic a tan
