Help my style my dress

Hello everyone

Is anyone able to help me style the linked dress? I’ll be wearing it to a wedding in a couple of weeks time, so very much a winter wedding. I love the dress! It’s comfortable, I can dance in it and it suits my new(ish) mum body.

I originally had my heart set on a different dress but it looked awful on. That dress would have looked amazing with blush pink accessories so I spent quite a lot of time researching those and am now struggling to see beyond that. So, would you stick with blush for this dress or perhaps for dark pink or silver or something else entirely?

For reference, I am 5 foot 8 and a size 12. I’d be looking to buy a bag (I've loved the pouch style recently), shoes, a coat or jacket, jewellery and perhaps something for my hair/head. I don’t want strappy shoes as it will be cold and probably wet!

If anyone can advise it would be much appreciated and bonus points for links to products I can buy! 😁

Or mauve/lilac for the coat, as long as it's a bit darker ...? Trickier to get it right though ...

The coat in the first link is really nice though & would work.

Footwear - I too prefer shoes & bag to be in different colours. The green embroidery looks like both lime & a bright-ish moss/olive? So I don't think the green ones previously posted are the right shade?

These are a better colour I think? Set beside the dress embroidery.

Raspberry pink shoes as an option?

Or have you thought of really great dressy boots rather than shoes ...?? For a winter wedding I think boots, as long as they're the heeled elegant kind, are good. Plum or moss green suede ...?

As for bags, silver/green/raspberry pink - all depends on what coat/footwear you go for - then pick something contrasting. The velvet ones are all from Etsy. The gorgeous silver one is Penelope Chilvers.

It’s a lovely dress. Going from past experience with occasion dresses I now prefer things I can wear again, so coat/jacket/shoes/jewellery/bag.

i think you could wear that dress again.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/01/2026 08:01

I was going to say that heeled boots might be better than shoes, but then I couldn’t find any boots that looked right for the dress. I really dislike silver boots. I thought grey suede might be nice but a quick search didn’t show up anything I liked much.

That pink Jigsaw coat is stunning, but so expensive.

The Anonymous Copenhagen ones are more of a soft platinum - but I agree they're not for everyone! I love metallic footwear & bags, but only have a pair of darkish bronze ankle boots, which are quite subtle. I looked at suede too - but thought grey (both coat & footwear) looked too washed out with the dress.

I have the Jigsaw coat in green from a couple of years ago. A sale purchase with birthday vouchers - plus it was less expensive then. It's probably my most-worn coat - it's unlined, so I layer up in winter then it's the perfect weight for both spring & autumn. (I hate puffa coats etc on me.)

It also came in a deep red & I'm still hoping to find it on eBay/Vinted ...

Nude shoes, minimal jewellery-let the dress speak for itself.

Wow, these are beautiful. Thank you.

What size are you? I have these under my bed, worn once size 39. I would be happy to send them to you for postage only.

Bikergran · 01/02/2026 18:34

That will look lovely on you with your height and size. I'd try to pick up the dark purply pink in the embroidery and keep all accessories as simple as possible. If you have long hair, maybe put it up with combs or accessories in the same colour, or with a silk flower like in the embroidery. I think a fascinator would be a bit fussy.

Oh yes. I’m just working my way through the suggestions now. Some lovely pieces. A few are sadly currently out of my budget what with nursery fees and the like but there’s certainly some great pieces and lots of inspiration. It’s just whether I do a matchy match show and bag or mis match them!

What a gorgeous dress op. I often dread clicking on a link on these sort of threads but that’s a beaut!

Thank you. I’m looking forward to wearing it 🥰

These are gorgeous. I saw someone wearing the light colour with jeans a few months ago and had to find them online as they looked so lovely! I haven't bought them but now tempted all over again!

Also, stunning dress OP. I prefer it when the bag and shoes don't match (for some reason) so I'd go with the green shoes and a silver bag. Maybe something like this: https://katieloxton.com/arden-braided-top-handle-bag-in-silver-klb4204?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1943742862&gbraid=0AAAAADE0JRo7cGZ3Pww-KDQQRs2Eob5_h&gclid=Cj0KCQiAyvHLBhDlARIsAHxl6xqWq23448yWHqm982nBy03z-v7XBkQQQXvHJm1tYp0sN142T-2gkCgaAgZMEALw_wcB

Thanks for this. I was originally eyeing up Katie Lockton bags for my original dress choice so this is a great suggestion. Looks like a decent size too.

Oh definitely work with the green. That will look so much more interesting IMO, as well as being a colour that doesn't scream "wedding" so can be worn/ used again more afterwards.

What's especially lovely about that dress is that they've bothered to embroider the back too.

Yes and for the sale price a bit of a bargain really.

That dress is beautiful! Definitely go for understated shoes and clutch - maybe green for one and metallic for the other.

Yes I’m wondering about a silver bag and green shoes perhaps. Still stuck on a coat type thing though!

Well it might look frumpy on you but given the OP is a new mum she is going to be young enough (and slim enough) to look on trend and fashionable in it.

OP ignore the rude poster - it looks like a lovely statement dress. I would go with silver earrings and watch and green shoes and either a green or silver bag. Both of my DD's have decided to chanel Claudia WInkleman in the Traitors and bought green capes with arm slits that would work well over that dress as you don't want to crush the sleeves into a coat if they are going to crumple as it would spoil the effect. Zara, Karen Millen and Ted Baker have all done them in the last couple of years so there ought to be some floating around on vinted or ebay. An alternative might be a short faux fur cape to keep your shoulders warm in a green - there are usually a few on resale sites.

Thank you.

A great idea for a green cape…I’ll see what I can find!
