Where can I find this?

I’m looking for a bathrobe/dressing gown. I’d like it to be double layer,, ideally with towelling inside, but the outside to be cotton or quilted type material. I don’t want a big fluffy thing that’s all sweaty, or waffle. Basically something like this

John Lewis had some quilted ones on sale in my local branch.

Pepperz · 28/01/2026 14:53

Sorry I should have said I’ve already seen the JL one it’s very stiff and old fashioned, not what I’m after really. I just want something with nice non fleecy/towel material on the outside, but towelling on the inside.

I’m confused what’s wrong with this one?

Furlane · 28/01/2026 15:54

Apart from looking like Nora Batty’s housecoat, what’s wrong with the one you posted?

Pepperz · 28/01/2026 16:05

I’ve seen the JL in store and I don’t like the pattern, the material or the sizing, it’s very big.

The La Redoute is only available in small or large sizes, I need a 10-12. I don’t like the pattern anyway.

I’ve just ordered this also from LaRedoute says it’s cotton in the inside and velour cotton on the outside.

There was a dressing gown thread on here recently. A lot of people recommend the Joules ones which I think were a double layer

Oh that looks good, thank you!

Does anyone use the hood on a dressing gown?

I like the hooded one, well the fabric/material, but without the hood would be perfect!

It arrives today. The sleeves come up short on me. Not sure whether to keep it. It’s is nice and thick. I do have slighter longer arms. DD is size 4/6 and her sleeves are fine on her. I guess at £25 I can put up with the sleeves

https://www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/Hooded-Velour-Robe/p/A03687?swatch=White The White Company have a few but not sure they completely fill your brief.

Why can't you order the one from La Redoute?

CharlotteCChapel · 30/01/2026 22:57

Try Christes . That's where I got mine

Why can't you order the one from La Redoute?

It's sold out in a couple of size (sadly, including mine), so that might be the issue.

Love this - would be interested to hear your review when you've received it, esp re sizing. I wish they did 8/10 🙄 Worried 6/8 will be too small, and 10/12 too bulky.

Scarfitwere · 31/01/2026 13:53

Ive just seen this and clicked on the link and its in stock in 10/12 fyi

I’ve got 14/16 and I’m a 16. Sleeves are definitely too short on me but so is my pyjama top underneath! I’m always having this problem. I’ve been wearing with wrist warmers today!
DD is a 4/6 and has the 6/8 and has been wearing it a lot and doesnt seem to have the arm problem.
We are keeping them because for £25 they seem good value.
i did have a lovely pink White Company one that died that was also cotton inside and velour outside that had softer velour but obviously that would be £££.
