Cos shirt?

I love this shirt but I've never spent £85 on a cotton shirt before. Does anyone have this shirt from Cos?

Opinions from those more stylish welcome! Thank you.

I think it’s lovely but probably suited to someone on the taller side to avoid being swallowed by it. My worry with white shirts is always foundation stains on the neck which I wouldn’t be able to avoid with this neckline!

I haven't seen this specific shirt but Cos is generally known for good quality fabrics. For me to buy at that price point, I would expect the cotton to be very smooth (akin to Liberty cotton lawn fabric) and opaque. How would you style it? Do you think it's a shirt that you will turn to time and time again? The neckline is quite the statement and I wonder if you would get bored with it? I'm trying to be objective about it for you OP but if I may be honest, it's giving Harry Hill take on a dentist's smock!

I think you'd look like a chef who's just escaped out the back door of the posh restaurant for a sneaky ciggie.
Sorry OP.
In my defence someone once stopped me buying a white jacket that she said would make me look like a waiter, so I'm just passing the favour on! 😂

I feel like I’d spill a lot of foo/drink down that collar.

Well … I’m accustomed to paying more than that for a shirt, but I do like them to be versatile - and anything with such a boldly shaped neck might be a bit restricted in its use. Dunno, it could look stylish, but it might just look silly. It’s not an unreasonable price, at all, and I’d generally trust Cos in terms of quality.

Have you tried it on? If you feel cool and clever in it then keep it. If you’re tugging at the collar, or it doesn’t work with your favourite earrings or jacket - maybe look for something else.

Apologies if my involuntary double post killed your thread, @FuckingShitShow!

It’s giving Zoidberg from Futurama to me

I happily spend a lot on shirts (and dresses) because I wear them a lot. I’d steer clear of this one personally because I really don’t like the neckline, it reminds me of a dog cone! Plus although I love white I have to remind myself to be VERY CAREFUL when I’m wearing it. I don’t wear makeup so that wouldn’t be an issue for me but I do eat and l drink which very much would cause an issue 😂

As someone who always feels strangled and chinless in a polo neck, I very much like the look of that neckline. If it was in a different colour, I might be tempted but I don't like white shirts. I also imagine it would need to be in quite a robust fabric to keep the shape, which might mean (I've not seen or tried it) that the rest of the shirt might feel a bit stiff..

So all in all, it's a no from me, but a slightly regretful no.

TeaAndToastedCrumpets · 28/01/2026 14:04

I wouldn't get it purely for practical reasons. I had something with a similar neckline and was always adjusting it (when putting on/removing layers, resting on headrest etc). I also imagine it would wrinkle if you do your coat up like in the pictures.
