Make up for covering a scar

I had a Basal Cell Carcinoma removed 2 days ago; the stitches come out on Friday. I am lucky in that it was able to be done using a skin flap and so didn't need a skin graft but I will still have a scar from the bridge of my nose and down the side, and I am quite anxious about it. I work in a customer facing role and see lots of people everyday and would like to be able to cover it up, a bit at least.

I rarely wear makeup, usually only if going out, and usually quite light so only limited knowledge of make up at all.

I'm hoping for some recommendations please that will give me reasonable coverage. I'm 50 years old and have fair skin.

The Boots scar reducing gel,is great for BCC removal scars. As for make up, I use Hydraluminous also from Boots.

I don't know if this available in the UK, but Thin Lizzy concealer creme is excellent.

Dermablend is specific makeup for covering scars. I actually got it on prescription.

I've had something similar recently,I think you will be amazed at how quickly and how well it will settle down. I've had a few removed and they do such an amazing job ,I hope it's the same with you.

To knock out redness then maybe an anti redness concealer might be all you need. Derma blend is a good shout definitely if you need more. I would recommend estee lauder as they do a maximum cover. Go to the counters and ask for help.

Oh yes and I use a silicone scar gel once stitches are out.

I'm going to have this done shortly for the end of my nose. I have a scar from the initial scrape so am grateful for the timing of this thread!
