Jeans help please!

Hello!

I know skinny jeans are like marmite, but i've worn them for years and used to them so am after a new pair. I need help with recommendations though please!

Currently have some River Island sculpting ones but can give me stomach ache after a roast dinner!

I have a couple of Only brand ones which although are super comfy as they have some stretch to them, they dont last long at all.

Bought some Asda ones the other week as needed a pair for the following day, but the fit is really bizarre. They feel fine when first put on but then the waist goes really baggy. Fit preftectly on the legs though.

I've had Next ones in the past but can't remember what they're like?

What are m&s like? I remember going into store last year and being so overwhelmed with choice that I walked out. (Thanks adhd and asd!)

A real shop would be preferred please so that I dont have to faff about with online returns.

I like Next ones. The black jersey leggings ones are comfy but hold shape, and a bargain at £28

Tesco F&F Contour Skinny Jeans, and they’re only £25. I prefer them to my spenny ones by a mile!

Look online at M&S, make a short list of styles names/codes, then go in and find them. I know the stores have so much stock is really difficult to know what you are looking at

Not an actual shop but Halara Jeans are amazing. Really stretchy so dont hurt at the waist and fit great

Im just back from m&s trying on jeans and honestly came out feeling like I need to go on a diet 😩 im size 8-10. I tried on the Mom jeans, Sienna jeans and Boyfriend jeans. All bloody awful 😅

M & S magic flare jeans. Bought them in black and dark blue. Love them. I’m a size 12.

Matalan relaxed skinny - generously sized and stretchy. Hold shape well and cheap 😊

I have a several pairs of next ones in various colours.

I got a pair of Only high waisted jeans a few years ago and I bloody love them.

Oh no, I hate shopping anyway! But dont go on a diet, a size 8-10 is slim anyway!!

I always forget about Matalan! Thanks for this! I bought some denim shorts a few years ago from Matalan and they fit great and are so comfy!

They're so comfortable aren't they?! Just frustrates me spending £50 a pair and they only last a few months.

I do need to get out of skinny jeans though at some point as i will be 40 next year and not sure if they will still be acceptable on me! I am hopeless with fashion, always have been! I have been looking at smart joggers for daytime, Next have some nice ones in and my MIL always gets nice ones from M&S as well.

@Tortephant I like this, writing them down. I get overwhelmed really easily so this will help me as I can then go ask someone where the styles are. Thank you!

Not been for a while as all are still fine but favourites have been from French connection. I had some lovely ones once from a brand called AG Farrah but John Lewis don’t sell them anymore.

@Thursday5pmisginoclock i didnt realise French connection were still going? Ill have to have a nosey.

this morning I nipped to the retail park on way home from the school run.

H&m only had wide and flared styles, not for me.

Tkmaxx I knew i wouldn't find anything and I was right, nothing suitable in my size.

River island had one style in a size 10 but it gaped on the back, I hate that! Size 8 were too tight.

Next, well, the sizes were all over the place! One style the 8 was bigger than the 10! I tried on about 12 pairs but the sizing really was crazy. Couldn't find any I was completely comfortable in.

I shall go into town next week and try Matalan and M&S as suggested by posters.

Try vinted. 7 for all mankind skinny jeans. Love them.

I’m loving the Louise redknapp colab with peacocks atm - the jean’s are fabulous & great value.

a little bit more expensive are Salsa jeans but fab you’re a bit hip-py / in between sizes as they do in between sizes ie size 11& size 13

Another vote for the F&F jeans from Tesco.
And I’m mid 40s and don’t feel like I look out of place wearing skinny jeans so I think you’re fine.

Ambela jeans are amazing and they have different styles. They are pricey, but you can also pick them up on Vinted. They stretch in them is out of this world!
