Black or chestnut brown boots

I have a lot of problems with my foot and have finally found a comfortable shoe brand, Sole Bliss. I really want a pair of boots and because of the price I can only get one pair but can't decide between black or chestnut. I wear mainly jeans or black trousers but found the black pair looked quite 'clompy'. Can I wear chestnut with black? Well I know I can, but does it look ok?!

I think black would go better with jeans and black trousers.

Brown is difficult to accessorize, you would need a good quality brown handbag, even if you wear a black coat.

If you buy the black boots, enliven your outfit with a colorful scarf.

Chestnut looks great with jeans and I think ok with black trousers too especially as they're clompy, DM ish boots- absolutely no need to insist on matching handbags!

I would go for chestnut as the colour is much more versatile than black and looks really good with jeans/black trousers. You can also wear them with burgundy, navy, greens etc
I really like wearing shoes/boots in a contrasting colour like brown, grey, plum, khaki much nicer than an all black look

I'd go for chestnut brown but then I dislike black shoes and don't think they're at all versatile so I would say that.

I also dislike black shoes as I think they all look clompy. The chestnut is classier imo.

I have a pair of clompy-ish black boots in a similar style (front zip instead of laces) and whilst I do love them, I'm finding them less versatile nowadays as I've gone off black tights//black jeans with black boots. I have dark brown DM Chelsea boots that feel more versatile.
