Mascara for straight lashes

Really stuck on mascara for my very straight (almost downwards facing) lashes. I do the heating curler up trick, I start from
the base.
where am I going wrong? What do you all use that works?

I have a lash lift

I use one from boots no7 its called dramatic lift.

Absolutely love a lash lift but hard to get to an appointment as I can’t have my 2 year old in tow haha. So need a good mascara for inbetween when my lashes have going straight again
