I'm in the market for a new dressing gown. Any recommendations? I dont have a specific budget in mind, just want something really lovely to replace my current one (John Lewis) which has seen better days. Thanks!

I have 4 (shameful hoarder)! A lovely green, long, thick, M&S cotton quilted one from last year. No M&S equivalent this year, but matalan have a similar one in pink https://www.matalan.co.uk/clothing/pink-quilted-robe/16439894.html
A white, mid-length waffle one (also M&S) and two OHSs lightweight ones for wearing in the summer or taking on holiday. Both purchased in the sale at a bargain price.

Frasers Biba cosy gown. I’ve had two in black and white for years and they are so comfy and cosy

The White Company one I linked to comes down to my ankles - I'm about 5'4".

@Poppins2016 those are truly beautiful. I’d waft around in them all day long, if I had one.

British Boxer gowns are long. I'm 5'4"" and have tu be careful not to trip over the hem of mine.

I bought a lovely one from Lands End a few years ago. Very good quality. They are on sale at the moment.

Also their PJs are the best - incredibly comfortable and virtually indestructible. Probably also on sale.

Joules have lovely thick and soft dressing gowns - this one is out of stock but gives you an idea https://www.freemans.com/products/joules-matilda-dressing-gown/_/A-38H013_S/M

I have this one. They do this style in a pink and white stripe as well and I bought that one for my mum. They are lovely and soft and quite thick as well. I do think mine shrank slightly the first time I washed it though, so bear that in mind.

I'd buy one of these if money was no object:

Sublime! Now top of my birthday list!

Mine is the cosy robe from Christy’s - I love it

LaurieFairyCake · 18/01/2026 14:32

I have two wool Brora ones, a Liberty silk one and a cashmere one which is Boden. I’ve worn the Boden one every winter for about 15 years, it’s 100% cashmere and I think it cost me the astronomical cost of £70 brand new from EBay. Cost per wear an utter bargain. Not one hole and every time I wash it (about 4 times 😬) it comes up like new

foxychox · 18/01/2026 14:37

Another one for British Boxers, lovely snug brushed cotton keeps me toasty and it’s a decent length. I’m not a fan of fleece due to the environmental impact and it would make me look like a sack of spuds.

cupfinalchaos · 18/01/2026 15:34

I love my plain long dark grey cashmere one from white company.

LOVE these

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 18/01/2026 15:54

I have this velour-on-the-outside, terry-towelling-inside peacock blue bathrobe from La Redoute
https://lr.app.link/PGeU1jR41Zb. It could do with being a bit longer but it’s cosy and hasn’t been shredded by the cat (yet) like my previous all-terry one.

Redredwiner · 18/01/2026 15:58

I got one from Dusk it's lovely, towelling material and feels quite luxurious

Magpiecomplex · 18/01/2026 15:59

Another Seasalt one here. Gorgeously soft and not pastel.

VivIsBlonde · 18/01/2026 17:01

I’ve got an imitation oodle!
it’s so warm n cosy with a full zip and hood!
I very rarely ware it though as I usually have a shower and jump straight into bed.

Auroraborealisnorthernlights · 18/01/2026 17:30

I love my Dream Cotton Robe from Bedfolk. Menopause meant fleece robes were too hot and sweaty for me.The Bedfolk

one is perfect.

Fairyvocals · 18/01/2026 17:32

I love my Seasalt dressing gown. Incredibly soft and cosy without being sweaty, and lovely dark print.
