Dammit - foundation discontinued!

Having been a long time No7 Hydraluminous fan I've been using YSL Touche Eclat foundation but it's been discounted. I've gone off the No7 one. I really like the medium cover the YSL gives while still being light as I have rosacea and broken thread veins on my cheeks.

Any suggestions for an alternative to the YSL will be gratefully received.

It's a bit spendy but this stick from Dior is absolutely brilliant. Great coverage, it is your skin but at its glowy best, and you only need a stripe over each cheek and a dot on forehead, nose, upper kip and chin then blend. Very lovely to blend too. I've had mine for over 5 months and it's only one twist down. I recommend it to everyone. So easy to travel with too.

Thank you for the recommendation. The YSL one was £42. I'm early 50s and I've tried things like Trinny London (I forget the actual product) and they don't provide enough coverage or have enough staying power. What do you use to blend the Dior with @DailyMaui?

Does anyone have any other suggestions please?

I love erborian bb cream. I am early 50s and feel foundation just doesnt seem to work for me.
I also like some skin tints. Fenty one is nice. For a cheap as chips option the wet n wild skin tint gives a nice finish

Nicecatneighbour · 18/01/2026 10:30

I use a Max Factor facefinity compact. It doesn't sit in the pores, and gives an even light finish.

I love this too, I use it with the cc cream either layer it or mix together.

Sometines use the cc on its own and then use the L’Oréal true match foundation which I find lovely, so light but gives a good coverage and nice finish for me, I like it as much as any expensive one I’ve tried. I’m not sure it lasts as long though.

My sister put me on for this one, which in fairness is amazing on her - I have more open/ visible pores than her and it’s not quite as good on me, but still better than most sculptedbyaimee.co.uk/products/second-skin-dewy?variant=42447781462272&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=21246483099&utm_content=&utm_term=&gadid=&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21256917496&gbraid=0AAAAApd5Fq_q2QwYEdtsOy-RyZBPNr3Ob&gclid=Cj0KCQiAprLLBhCMARIsAEDhdPfAt2_9GFuORGX13KJi-voemLHvtNnpmquMTIBvXzwLF1fWvyIt11gaAu-SEALw_wcB

Armani luminous silk

If you have a space nk near you, they are fab at helping choose foundation. I use the green erborian cream, and then NARS longwear foundation on top. It’s a lovely light foundation but with good coverage and doesn’t sit in creases or pores. I am mid 50s. My dd also introduced me to setting spray which had dismissed all my life as nonsense, but she is right. It makes it last much longer.

Thanks for these suggestions, much appreciated.

I like a brush. Currently using this one from Makeup by Mario as it has two ends. I use the larger one to blend over cheeks, forehead etc and the smaller one for side of nose or to dab some extra over problem pigmentation. However, I didn't buy it and probably wouldn't spend that much on a brush. Prior to this one, I was using this Real Techniques brush

I find the coverage of the Dior pretty perfect as I don't like to look like I'm wearing foundation, it's nice and light. It lasts well too.

I use No7 Hydraluminous and find now I'm nearly 50 it's not so good, so going to look at these recommendations as well.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 26/01/2026 19:34

I bought the Dior stick one at the weekend. It was 15% off too - not sure if that was a Dior or a JL promotion. The assistant was lovely and gave me a sample of their Forever Skin Glow foundation too. She was wearing it and it looked great. The stick I can use without needing concealer on top to cover my thread veins

I’ve moved to the NO7 Pro artist flawless silk foundation. I find it’s much more like the old No7 foundations (that no longer exist!).
you can get colour matched in store then ask for a tester pot to take away

HappyTomato · 26/01/2026 19:38

I apply it with my fingers. Might be different if applied with brushes

sickofsixseven · 26/01/2026 19:50

I have the Dior forever skin glow foundation, which I found good but rubs off easily. Just bought the stick over the weekend and yes its as good as everyone says. Really loving it so far, coverage is more natural than the foundation but still evens out skin tone. I blend it with a damp beauty blender and use setting powder and it lasts all day.

Focusispower · 26/01/2026 19:53

Hourglass ambient glow. Genuinely glows, good coverage and doesn’t feel heavy. I’m mid 40s and like it a lot.

le0pardqueen · 26/01/2026 20:03

Your Skin But Better by It Cosmetics is fantastic, I love it.

I've preferred blending with fingers to a brush so far and will try a beauty blender.
