Brands? Thick stylish(?) hoodie

Appreciate this is pretty much the antethesis of style and beauty., apologies. I work from home and own a dog. I’m looking for a nice hoodie to throw on that is a decent size and thickness. I don’t want a zip. I am happy to pay if it’s actually nice. I would like it to be hip length or longer and not to be too fitted. But I tried buying a massive men’s one and look like a throwback to my unfortunate ‘90s self. Any good brands I should consider please?

Try Betty Bramble. Got a lovely cowl neck hoody from there.

Fasterthan40 · 11/01/2026 12:15

Oh thank you. I am a big fan of a cowl neck. Will look now.

I just got a Rapanui hoodie without a zip in their sale. I’m sure they said it was comfortable fit or something, but it is relatively close fit, so you’d need to size up if you wanted a looser fit. That said, it is lovely and cosy, and it also has side pockets. It was only £20.

Oh pockets is a win as is sale. Thank you, will look now and size up.

Pangaia hoodies are really nice quality and are available in lots of colours and three thicknesses

VillaOfReducedCircumstances · 11/01/2026 13:57

Hmm, I don’t think the Rapanui one will be long enough for you actually.

I found a Betty bramble on on Vinted for a good price so have bought that to try for size and shape. Just got up for super early reformer class and would really like snuggly hoodie to wear this morning!

Will look at Pangaia if not, thank you.

Passenger?

Betty Bramble was a good shout thank you. It’s thick and washes well. Definitely not glamourous but exactly what I wanted for gym /pilates. Thank you!

My Unfortunate 90s Self would be a great band name.

For stylish but maybe not as cosy as you’d like, you could look at Cos or All Saints. I got a nice cotton one in Cos, massively reduced in the sale.

Ha yep, would be an excellent band name. And guess could offer hoodies as merch. Will take a look at Cos on Vinted for summer options. Thank you.

I have been wearing my Betty bramble lots as warm. Was chatting with a contractor based up in Glasgow who could see my neck and he was very envious of how thick and warm it looked. Almost American hoody type! But

Lands End “Serious Sweats” range is v thick and cosy. Classic styling rather than cutting edge fashion.
