Powder foundation

I’ve not really worn make up for years but I think I’m a bit too old for the fresh faced look. I’ve bought a couple of liquid foundations but find them a faff.

Years ago I used to have a face powder type foundation in a compact that I could quickly brush on.

I can’t seem to find one now. Do they still exist anywhere??

Thank you

Bare minerals

Fenty do one. Larger Boots should sell it.

selfcentred · 10/01/2026 22:29

Bobbi Brown does one

Max Factor Facefinity compact. I find it quick and easy to apply.

Rimmel 24 hr stay ,red compact is great. I've repeat bought it .

WhatNext2026 · 11/01/2026 10:44

Bobbi Brown have one. I use their stick foundation sparingly on thr T zone and then powder all over after that.

Brilliant. Thank you everyone. I will track some of these down. I used to wear translucent so will check for that first.

Yes, another vote for Laura Geller. This is the one:

Cheaper to buy direct usually (they cover any import taxes upfront) if you don’t mind waiting a week or so for delivery.

It lasts surprisingly well and looks good but very natural.

The Bobbi Brown one is brilliant. I have it in several shades (for when I have a tan) and always have several back-ups of each shade.

Bare Minerals Bar Pro powder foundation is great, they had a blip with the formula a couple of years ago but now it’s fab again - sits well over SPF etc

metalmutha · 13/01/2026 20:20

Another vote for Laura Gellar, specifically designed for more mature skin, so it doesn't crease and settle into fine lines and is buildable too.

Nofksleft2give · 13/01/2026 21:00

I just bought the Rimmel and I’m really pleased with it.

tealandteal · 13/01/2026 22:02

Another vote for Laura Geller, it’s very natural looking and doesn’t upset my sensitive skin.

Look at Korean cushion foundations

whiteroseredrose · 15/01/2026 23:15

Thank you everyone. Have ordered from Laura Geller. Fingers crossed!

How do you know which Laura Gellar shade to go for? I wish I could try before I buy.

Onceaponceatime · 17/01/2026 22:56

Really helpful thread . I used to find the powders very drying so they made my skin feel ‘stiff’ . Are any of these specifically not like that and how do I avoid it??

DualPower · 18/01/2026 07:04

The Laura Geller foundation powders are on offer in Amazon for just around £15!

IDontHateRainbows · 18/01/2026 07:33

Elizabeth arden do a mineral powder foundation.
