I like my Seasalt Janelle. It’s warm and waterproof.

If you’re the right size and like the colour, the Oak shade is currently in their sale. Two other waterproof coats are reduced even further.

Style wise I struggle a little with my Janelle but for practicality in winter it’s my go to. It’s very warm, ridiculously waterproof (as are all seasalts) and very importantly windproof. I’d recommend it. Not all waterproof coats are made equal, I’d highly recommend seasalt generally as they’ve got the technical aspects spot on.

I don't like how my Janelle looks. I particularly dislike the way it manages to be both plain and fussy at the same time. Every winter details like the tabs at the waist and the fish tail hem annoy me a bit more. I wear it as little as possible but it stays because I've never found a better coat for keeping out awful weather and because the fleecy hood feels delightful.

Love my Janelle. It’s my only winter coat, warm, waterproof and windproof. Agree with pp though, the tail is annoying.

I, on the other hand, love my Lands End. Long, toasty, waterproof, easy to wear. I have a lovely Seasalt coat, but sadly it is style over substance.

I have the Seasalt Janelle and it is generally warm but the arms aren’t padded well and the sleeves are just a tad short. The fishtail also isn’t very stylish. However it is generally warm. Not tried any other waterproof coats but have heard good things about Didriksons.
