I want someone to make use of my wedding dress

I got married in 2012 and I'm looking for ideas of how I can re purpose my lovely wedding dress. Either for another bride to wear, or to be upcycled into someone of use to someone.

I am not crafty and shorty on time, but I would love to donate it to a person or organisation who can make use of it.
The only problem is that the dress has aged - it has some yellowing and a few stains. Structurally the fabric and detailing are fine. And large patches are fabric /beading/lace are still in good condition

I can't afford to get it professionally restored/cleaned in order to donate to a charity bridal shop, so at the moment I'm a bit stuck. It seems such a waste sitting in my wardrobe.

Any suggestions?

Gift to a theatre company so they can use it in productions? It may not need to be in such good condition for that, as they can use it as fit for purpose.

Nancy Birtwhistle has instructions online for cleaning wedding dresses at home. Check out her instagram page, I think she had a pinned story with photos from lots of different people who have tried her recipe. If you’re successful you could donate it and if you’re not you haven’t lost anything since it wasn’t being used anyway.

I gifted mine to a company who makes gowns for still born babies to be buried in. Sad but made me feel better than it sat In my wardrobe collecting dust
