Help me with jeans!

I've lived in skinny jeans for the last 20 years and im thinking I need to move on but to what? I tried a few different styles on in m&s but everything felt unflattering and meh.

Any recommendations for a 40 year old woman, size 10, 5 ft 7, very straight up and down figure? Budget probably up to £60

M&S Boyfriend rolled up and M&S barrell

I like M&S carrot leg. Like barrel but slightly less so. I'm 5'7" size 12.

It took me a while to embrace wide leg jeans but I love them now. The H&M wide high ones are my favourite, I have them in 3 colours. I think they are 24.99.
I also like the relaxed straight jeans from River Island. The long leg look nice with a heel.

I am in my 40's, size 8 and 5 foot 7 so similar to you

Im 5'7" too and size 10. Also struggled to get out of skinny jeans. These are great, but, i realise about £100 over budget...maybe the sale??

Me+ Em, Boot Ready jeans, photo being reviewed.

I am tall, broad shoulders but small chest so look quite boxy despite my height. I actually found going for quite a large wide leg such as a Palazzo or even a flare work well for me. It gives me the illusion of shape and balance.

If you’ve been wearing skinnies for 20 years then any new style is going to feel weird at first. They’re an extreme style. All I can suggest is to keep trying other shapes on until you ‘get your eye in’ and they start to look less strange.

I’ve spent the last few years flitting between barrel leg, flares and occasionally wide leg jeans but right now, I’m quite into straight leg, which are probably the closest to what you’re used to. But what I enjoy most of all is having no loyalty whatsoever to any one style.

I might try the h&m ones. What shoes do you wear with wide leg jeans out of interest? Would chunky boots go with them?

I've found a style that looks good in one brand doesn't necessarily look good in another. And vice versa.

Also colours - so straight leg might look good in blue/indigo for example, but not so good in black.

So it takes quite a long time.

I like the m&s girlfriend jeans best but I roll down the bottoms (they come rolled up). The regular is a perfect length for me at 5.4 so I’d go for the longer length

I just bought the Levi's super baggy barrel leg jeans. Mid rise. Really comfortable. Didn't think I would suit barrel jeans but I was wrong. I would go to a Levi's store and get an assistant to help. I find they are really knowledgeable and helpful and will get you lots of things to try.

I normally wear my chunky trainers or Adidas Spezials. I think if the jeans were long enough a chunky boot would look fine
