What shoes do you wear with wide leg trousers?

Wise mumnetters... just as the title says - what shoes do you wear with wide leg trousers/jeans?

I sometimes wear with trainers but for something more formal like for work - what do you wear / what looks good?

I feel like boots look wrong but maybe I'm trying wrong style / heel height?

Any thoughts very welcome!

Almost exclusively chunkyish trainers - mine are from New Balance (beige) and Hoff (colourful).

Chunky loafers or an ankle boot, and I make sure the trousers are short enough. I think ankle length looks better, with wide leg. The hem flip-flapping over the shoe looks dated, somehow.

Pointed flats. Usually in a contrast colour.

Or narrow round toe boots which look like the shape of my trainers (to my eye) and so they work.

Chunky Chelsea Boots or loafers. Or classic POW Heels

Suede brogues

Either trainers or pointy flats/low heels. Unlike a previous poster, I think full length, ie. covering a good portion of your shoes, looks best. I can't stand jeans that are flapping around your ankles and the wider the cut, the worse it looks.

Slim trainers or slim loafers. Have a look at Lydia Jane Tomlinson, she has some great tips on her Insta and Youtube about the best shoes to wear with wide leg trousers. I always find her style advice so helpful.

Oo thank you so much everyone.

A few purchases to be made shortly!

Thanks so much again for the tips.

The right length is crucial with wide legs. I agree that flapping around the ankle looks awful.
