Need some lovely, comfy pyjamas

Comefromaway · 04/01/2026 11:01

I’m desperate for new pyjamas. My current ones are M & S but I can’t seem to get my size anymore (they were from the outlet shop)

My requirements are:

100% cotton & not fleecy (I overheat)
No buttons (I sleep on my front & they dig in)
Short or long sleeved but full length legs
Won’t bobble or pill (I had some from Sainsbury’s Tu & they are faded & bobbled)
Nice design not cutesy with animals or slogans or cups of coffee
Strong seams

budget not an issue as long as they are worth it. I’ll pay for quality but not for brand alone.

What size do you need?

Comefromaway · 04/01/2026 16:14

Size 12

The website is slow for me but it seems that all the plain/check ones are brushed cotton which I can’t wear.

They have jersey plain ones, their patterned flower/animal ones are definitely are cotton (and not brushed). Try to persevere with the website (it’s probably due to the sale) or they sell them in JL.

I definitely don’t want patterned animal ones. Flowers would be ok if a tiny ditsy style print but no big patterns.
I’ve seen jersey plain tops on there but only found bottoms with big or cutest prints.

Lands end. They do nice pyjamas, with cotton T shirt tops and jersey bottoms

Tiredandannoyed2023 · 04/01/2026 20:26

I’ve bought John Lewis PJs for years. 100% cotton and really good quality.

HoppityBun · 04/01/2026 20:28

I like British Boxers PJs but I only buy them in the sales

Yes, they do various types, good quality cotton.

Chelsea Peers are really comfy and wash well.

super comfy

I like Hush pyjamas - they’re very plain, and I’m pretty confident that if you come to my house and I’m wearing them, you wouldn’t realise they’re nightwear!
Wash really well and can be tumble dried too, which is handy for this time of year.
In the sale now, so not quite as expensive. Sold out in most sizes but John Lewis stock them too.

Toast? Most have buttons I see. John Lewis has some nice sets without buttons, lots on sale now.

Miranda65 · 05/01/2026 09:12

Seasalt have some very comfy striped PJs at the moment.

Praminthehall · 05/01/2026 09:19

Polarn O Pyret do great adult size pyjamas.

CushionsandThrows · 05/01/2026 09:20

How about these? I've had mine for probably six years now. They won't win any prizes for luxury or glamour but they are very comfy, wash and dry well, true to size. Not too shameful for answering the door to unexpected delivery persons. Warning: JL have the same set in a light grey and, weirdly, I found those to be a poor fit and of inferior quality.

I saw some lovely viscose ones on the Land's ned website recomended. I think viscose would be ok too but my favourite colour were out of stock typical.

What does Slub cord mean? the Hush ones say that. Nice colours, wish they were not oversized fit.

I've nevr heard of Chelsea Peers, the first few pges seem quite ugly in the non buttoned ones but I will go through the rest to see what other designs they are.

Never thought of Toast, I don;t like their clothes but I will check out their PJ's.

I have just been on M&S website and they have some new styles in and more sizes so I might be lucky there. I quite like these

I treated myself to some from Boody and they are wonderfully stretchy, soft and comfortable (bamboo) - you buy the tops and bottoms separately and can go with long or short sleeved tops. Mine are the plainest possible and are so good for sleeping in. I'm considering buying another pair as soon as I can.

Comefromaway · 05/01/2026 12:30

They look nice

Have a look at Next. They have 100% cotton short sleeved t-shirt style PJs in a range of patterns.

Catwoman8 · 05/01/2026 20:45

Chelsea Peers is probably not for you if you don't like prints , they are comfy though!

WhereAreWeNow · 05/01/2026 20:53

I like Next for cotton PJs - mainly because they do extra long ones which fit me well. Worth checking their sale too.

I second Boody. Have washed well too.
