Natural Nail Care

Hi -

I have had to give up on having my nails done professionally due to the cost.

I tried doing gel nails at home which worked pretty well but removal was a total PITA and I just can't make time to do it regularly unfortunately.

I am lucky that my natural nails grow quite well, and are relatively strong so I am trying to keep them long without the gel now. I use a tallow balm and bepanthen on my hands and cuticles at night which leaves my hands and nails looking generally good and keeps my cuticles in good shape.

I am wondering if there are any nail products I could use on my natural nail to help protect them, which isn't gel? Something clear/with minimal colour so won't be obvious if it's chipped. Bonus if it improves the look of the nail so they look a bit more polished than just bare nails.

Last time I used anything like this was when Sally Hansen was the go-to product (so some years ago). I also remember having something from Superdrug that made the whites look whiter I think?

What sort of thing do people recommend for natural nail care and appearance these days? Any recommendations welcome! 😊

You want Nails Inc Glowing my way. It’s a translucent bright pink which makes your nails glow; it must have some UV tech in it. It’s brilliant stuff - I buy it on repeat
