I’m silver or pewter. I do like gold I just don’t think it suits me though I like white gold.

Spent years wearing silver / white gold, thinking it was 'classier' before realising recently that yellow gold seems to flatter my skin tone much better! So now I'm trying to build up a collection of gold jewelry (real and costume.)

Samewrinklesnewname · 30/12/2025 13:07

Gold works best on me

0hmydayzzzz · 30/12/2025 13:09

I want to be gold but have been advised that silver works best on me! Apparently I'm a 'winter', if that means anything to you.

Purplecatshopaholic · 30/12/2025 13:25

Silver looks better on my skin tone. I do occasionally wear yellow gold or rose gold depending on my outfit.

BusterGonad · 30/12/2025 15:58

I wear silver and white gold, but to be honest I'd wear any really as it's not the same as wearing a jumper in a colour that doesn't flatter you.

Same here. My wedding, engagement and eternity rings are all platinum and I often wish I'd gone for yellow gold. Would have been a lot cheaper too 😆

silver, even though I generally prefer warm autumn colours. I just dont like gold on anything (includes things like belts or handbags).

PrincessHoneysuckle · 30/12/2025 17:55

Yellow gold

Gettingbysomehow · 30/12/2025 18:08

Always used to be silver but now in my 60s I look so much better in gold. My skin has changed.i get gold plates as its so expensive.

suki1964 · 30/12/2025 18:09

I wear white gold, silver and platinum

I do like yellow gold and wear that as costume jewellery but anything of value is White

justasking111 · 30/12/2025 18:16

I'm a rose gold fan after buying a tri gold ring in Cyprus. It's a warm colour. I have a rose gold bangle.

Necklaces are yellow gold apart from an aquarium pendant which is white gold

My wedding ring is white gold to match my engagement ring, but my eternity ring is yellow gold.

I've never been a fan of platinum or silver

researchers3 · 30/12/2025 18:17

I look fine in either!

Petrine · 30/12/2025 18:27

Rose gold and platinum for me. I’m very pale and rose gold looks good but nearly all my jewellery is platinum - the two go together nicely though.

SocksAndTheCity · 30/12/2025 18:32

Rose gold and yellow gold for me (pale with auburn hair) Smile

EnchantedDaydream · 30/12/2025 18:41

Silver/platinum here, I have some items with a small amount of yellow gold incorporated but always choose white metals for buckles, handbag fastenings etc and like a PP much prefer steel/chrome in the house, no brass for us. Fortunately white metals suit me better than yellow. I really dislike rose gold, would never wear that.

lalaloopyhead · 30/12/2025 18:44

I can wear both. Gold makes me look more a bit tanned and silver gives me an icier look and brings out my blue eyes
I wear more gold than silver on the whole.

TomatoSandwiches · 30/12/2025 18:44

I suit both, gold more in the summer, I have Irish and Greek/olive mixed tone skin.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 30/12/2025 18:44

I wear the lot. I think silver/platinum used to look better but as I’ve got older my complexion has warmed a bit and I can wear yellow gold now too

RampantIvy · 30/12/2025 18:45

Silver suits me as I am cool toned. Although I do like rose gold.

UnhappyHobbit · 30/12/2025 18:47

I’m quite fortunate that I’m a neutral skin tone so I can pull off both. I’m not a fan of yellow gold rings though.

user593 · 30/12/2025 18:50

My skin tone suits either which is a bit annoying because it means I can/ do buy both!

BauhausOfEliott · 30/12/2025 19:02

Silver or pewter tones look best on me. I can get away with a cool bronze but yellow gold doesn’t suit me at all.

The least flattering tone on me, by a mile, is rose gold.

I'm a Winter too but I wear gold jewellery. Technically I think you're right, silver suits our colouring better but I've always preferred gold and that's what my wedding and engagement rings are.

I agree with a PP that wearing the "wrong" metal jewellery for your colouring is a lot more forgiving than wearing clothes in a warm colour palette if you're cool or vice versa. I can get away with my gold earrings and necklace but look like death if I wear khaki or mustard yellow.
