Longline gilet

I’m tempted to treat myself to a longline puffer gilet in the sales but want to know from those of you who have one, do you wear it much and what makes you wear it rather than a proper coat? Worried it might be one of those things I buy but never wear! Confused

I have one from Next which I wear a lot! It’s warmer than just a gilet, but not as restrictive and hot as my coat. But then I hate feeling stuff around my arms and tend to roll my sleeves up, so a gilet suits me.

I have a light one from mountain warehouse. I wear it under my wool coat when it's super cold or rainy and I want to be able to use a hood, sometimes wear it round the house when it's cold, wear it over a T-shirt in summer as a light over layer, use it under my raincoat to turn it into a warmer coat when it's raining.... basically I wear it lots!

I never see the point of those knee lengths puffer gilets, do people really experience cold thighs but their arms are just fine so they need one?
Do they ever look stylish?
(Sorry, but I can't stand them. It's the one item of clothing I'd feel like I've given up in).

I’ve got one from Sweaty Betty and wear it loads from early autumn to whenever! It was quite expensive so I signed up to their loyalty program and bought it with my birthday gift, think it was 50% off one item. To be honest I use it that much (it’s black), that I may look at it in the green.

Thanks all, I’ve ordered one in the sale. @Wingingit247I’m similar and often wear short sleeved jumpers for this reason so hoping I’ll really get a lot of use.

@henlake7I think I’ve already given up and I’m sadly very far from stylish! Grin
