I think they look good! Perfect for walking etc. I’m sure you have other boots for going out in too.

BillieWiper · 28/12/2025 12:38

They're not really a fashion type shoe. So not out of fashion, no. They look functional and comfortable and like they'd go with plenty of clothes. So that's all that matters.

Clockyclockz · 28/12/2025 12:39

They are for 70 plus yr olds to wear in the winter, a fairly classic style.

TheRavenKingsDaughter · 28/12/2025 12:39

Really struggling to see the point of this thread.

Enjoy your boots, @twiddlingthumbs69!

eggandonion · 28/12/2025 14:23

I have been wearing them since I was 60! I work in a place with a tiled floor which is freezing and I walk the dog in them if it is cold and dry.
I have just got a pair of German slippers which my daughter said look very professional...

HighlyUnusual · 28/12/2025 14:28

I have a pair a bit similar to this in tan, they aren't fashionable but they are warm in winter, brilliant for long walks and they do look good with flares or baggies on those winter walks. I don't wear them with a mid-length skirt, put it that way.

As with most things, it's the way you style it that counts, I don't feel fashionable when going for my walks but I'm not aiming to, it's a different aesthetic for a different purpose.

Quincette · 28/12/2025 14:34

Um. They’re not fashionable but they do look cosy and my mother in law wears similar.

Samewrinklesnewname · 28/12/2025 14:38

They make me think of this kind of thing…

Are these boots old fashioned?

My mum is in her 70s she would wear things like this.

I am in my 40s and wouldn’t wear them.

Astrabees · 28/12/2025 14:46

They are Sketchers! You are never going to look stylish in them. If that is not a consideration it doesn’t matter. You can get functional stylish boots though, Barbour, Penelope Childers, Aigle, Celtic and Lanx come to mind.

80smonster · 28/12/2025 15:09

Yes, how old are you?

Carerofhedgehog · 28/12/2025 15:15

Very old fashioned. Sensible footwear with little consideration to style. Fine it that’s what you want.

They look warm but aren’t particularly stylish or youthful.

cockandbullstories · 28/12/2025 17:14

I think op should have been clearer in her post as to what they were required for as there are a lot of harsh responses here.

twiddlingthumbs69 · 27/12/2025 21:29

I think I’m just feeling my age and lost perspective. Years ago I’d have run a mile from them but now I just see comfy, they’ve got zips on the other side for ease of access so another win with my back.

Are you stylish? I feel like I could pull these off but I have style dysmorphia and always think I look a million bucks in whatever I wear, despite photographic evidence to the contrary. I actually like them and may pick up a pair! I think those ruched leather ones or punched leather ones are much more old fashioned. Don't feel down about boots
Life is definitely too short.

twiddlingthumbs69 · 28/12/2025 11:35

Update: they’ve arrived. I love them, they’re warm, comfy easy to get on and look good with kick flare jeans. Wouldn’t wear them with skinnies or straights. I do a lot of walking etc so they are fit for purpose.

Good for you! If you like them and want to wear them, that’s all that matters.

I have some pink barbour half boots which are bloody freezing!
