Sunglasses restoration (Chanel)

Hi S&B,

Hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas!

I was just after some advice about sunglasses restoration if anyone is in the know. I really need a new pair, I've been looking for ages for the ones, made do with some Prada and Ray Bans I liked but never really loved over the years. Trouble is, I can't get over a pair I bought about 15 years ago. The lenses are scratched and the arms have been stretched (baby kept throwing them off my face - FTM, wasn't quite in the swing of baby appropriate clothing back then 🤣).

Does anyone have any experience of having them repaired? Where did you take them and how much roughly did it cost?

TY x

Morning
I’m unsure about how to get the lenses re-finished but if the arms are stretched, just use a micro screwdriver to tighten them. I have a massive(!) head and often plonk my Chanel sunglasses on my head rather than over my eyes so o have to do this relatively often.

My most recent Chanel sunnies were half the price of the ones I really really wanted and I’m glad I bought these now as spending over €800 euros on glasses I constantly need to tighten would have made me v angry!

Enjoy your Boxing Day!

@claracluck1978 thank you! I cant believe how expensive some of them are now and I still dont love them. I'll invest in a new screwdriver!

@UpMyself thank you - Ill check that out now!

@PersephonePomegranate , there are other companies offering the service. I've not used any but I have sent off spex to be re-glazed.

I had mine glowed up at my opticians but to be fair I was buying reading glasses at the time - although they weren’t Chanel.
My Chanel sunglasses are 15 years old so well worn and I was absolutely amazed at how well they turned out. I can’t remember how ouch he charged but it wasn’t enough that it scared me off.
Find an optician that has a Chanel range and ask. I’m glad I did!
