Il Makiage - worth the hype?

I was a-browsing and came across the ad for Il Makiage- ended up getting drawn in to the shade finder questionnaire etc .

It's £39 - which is more than I would ever spend on any piece of make up.

Is it that good?

For me no it wasn’t. It’s sitting unused in a cupboard.

No I wasn’t a fan, and I’ve spent that on other foundations. It’s really high coverage. What sort of foundation would you usually choose?

Timemyluckchanged · 24/12/2025 09:30

No but did get caught by a Laura Geller ad and bought a baked foundation compact and brush. I actually really like it and I’m not someone who normally bothers with foundation but it’s so easy to put on and build as needed.

No, it was way too heavy for me and sat in my wrinkles.
I sent it back for a refund

Nothing most days. I like a powder type application like Laura Geller or Bare Minerals on the occasion that I do bother.

good to know - thank you

I like the LG - it’s what I use on the rare times I bother with make up . It’s very easy to- I’ve had mine years, prob should get a new one..

No not really. I’d say it’s more stage makeup.

OnlyYellowRoses · 24/12/2025 11:47

Nope. Cakey and not a match

Aquabluemouse · 24/12/2025 14:19

Il Makiage was a perfect colour match for me so that was good, but I wouldn’t say the actual foundation was great, or at least not worth £39. I’ve used better Rimmel ones in the past. My go-to for the past few years is IT Cosmetics CC+ cream as it’s just the right amount of coverage for my skin. If I’m going on a night out I use more product for a heavier foundation look, but during the day I use a minuscule amount to keep my skin looking natural but slightly more evened out.

Ruthietuthie · 24/12/2025 14:25

Heavy, cakey, and sat in my wrinkles making them more pronounced. NOT GOOD.

Whentostarthrt · 24/12/2025 14:35

No - I liked it at first and the colour match was good, but it oxidised really quickly and turned me orange!
