Help Needed - Budget Wellies

Hello everyone, I thought you might be able to help advise on where I can find the best budget wellies?

My last pair were from the M&S kids section a few years ago and they’ve now cracked too much to be of any use so I’m looking to replace them. I don’t want anything fancy, just something for the odd walk around a field with my dog (he’s a chihuahua so nothing too adventurous) that’s not going to give me blisters within five minutes.

Thanks!!!

I bought these recently from Amazon. Fine so far and very cheap, also bog standard green which I wanted, I don't want to garden in sparkly or rainbow or unicorn wellies!

Builder's shops! Screwfix or similar. So much better and v cheap

It was some years ago now, but I got a decent quality pair in black from the Shoe Zone boys' section. Think they were about £8-£9. Unlike so many budget wellies nowadays the soles have a good grip.

Pair of Dunlop wellies, cheap and last.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 20/12/2025 22:35

Dunlop. Not exactly comfortable though.

Garden centres usually have cheap wellies.

Christmascanary · 20/12/2025 22:52

Dunlop for sure

Thank you all! I’ll have a look at the options you suggested.

I think my dad has always sworn by Dunlop for beach fishing so they might be my next port of call. I can always make them more comfy with thick socks.

Agree with @AdoreTheChaos . Dunlop.
If you can fit into children's sizes, you won't pat VAT.

I’ve had my pair for 20+ years, thick socks are the key like you say.

I got Dunlops from the market as an emergency buy the first time I went to Glastonbury. They are still going strong many years later!

I'm have these. I got them because they're wide fit and wide calf and now both my daughters have them because they're so easy to put on and take off. Nice and sturdy but soft sides.

@Winter42 , I gave someone some for Christmas. They were cute and only £10.
