Christmas Day dressing …

Not a TAAT but various threads do give the impression that it’s a question that causes some … division. I think I had to hide at least one thread because one faction insisted that the other was proposing to visit their in-laws in their pyjamas. Though I suspect Bailey’s may have influenced that misunderstanding.

Anyway - slebs have offered their hugely influential (Hmm) words of wisdom:

What the fashion set wear on Christmas Day

£725 for furry slippers. Yep - keeping it real there.

So basically most people do pajamas and jeans/jumpers.
Only difference is wether it's cashmere and silk or wool and cotton!

333FionaG · 20/12/2025 19:38

Pyjamas it is! Mine won't be Gucci though.

ScoutOfTheSoftHeartsClub · 20/12/2025 19:46

Totally at odds with the MN consensus that daytime pyjamas are slovenly and disgusting!

I wear pjs with a quick change for dinner/walk & then back to pjs. No £800 slippers though!

bitterexwife · 20/12/2025 19:51

I’m going to wear the same pjs as my kids - I bought them all a size bigger last year so they last two years. Tkmaxx, not gucci.
I will be showering though beforehand and do skincare etc, then pjs and walk over to exes with a coat over and trainers. Neither of us have a dog to walk, not going out and no visitors, so I’ll walk home that evening in same.

Here is an image if you do not want to follow the link ... Doris Day in DO NOT DISTURB!

Doris made a big entrance in the 1965 romantic comedy Do No Disturb wearing a stunning orange sequined dress created by famed costume designer Ray Aghayan. Her white coat even sported a matching sequined liner!

I hope the image works this time ...

Christmas Day dressing …

No, I'm part of the dress up just a little bit faction. If I'm cooking I'll get everything done and then change just before it is time to serve the meal.

NewDogOwner · 21/12/2025 17:58

I ordered the Skims black strappy maxi dress. It's soft and ribbed so is loungewear but also could be worn out. Planning to wear it with a new lambswool Zara cardigan.

ScoutOfTheSoftHeartsClub · 21/12/2025 18:15

Yes, for me also, taking the bird / fish out of the oven to rest is the cue to dash upstairs and change out of pjs into something less lounge-y.
