Being made redundant, can’t afford hairdressers

Hello everyone, I usually go to the hairdressers every 3 months for a colour and cut. Unfortunately life has taken a turn recently — 3 months sick leave from work on statutory sick pay and now I’m being made redundant.

The hairdressers is just too much money at the moment but I would like to cover my greys. Usually I get my roots light brown and blonde highlights. Now I know I won’t be able to recreate this myself, but any advice on where to start finding a box dye colour? I’m not wanting it to come out too warm…

how Do you manage to do foil highlights yourself?

Superdrug hair box dye, 11 pound for two slap in ten mins later wash out what's not to love😂

Can't recommend a dye but if you're cutting/colouring yourself I would watch a whole load of Brad Mondo videos on YouTube first (the tutorial ones not the reaction/'fail' videos)
First, he's lovely and funny
Second, you'll actually learn good techniques so it turns out decent!

Mobile hairdressers or those running a business from home- ask around or local facebook page for recommendations.

Just be careful with FE colleges. Staff often need their skills updating (having been in a college for a few years) and are very restricted in the products available due to budgets. I am saying this as an FE lecturer who has used the college salons (to support students needing models) and come out not looking that great.
