Saggy jowls!

Advice, please, on effective ways to deal with them (I’m in my 60s). Christmas party photos show that serious action is needed!

There’s not a great deal you can do without surgical intervention I’m afraid!

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 18/12/2025 00:58

Accept it,
Its part of your ageing

ZaZathecat · 18/12/2025 01:04

Wide grin at all times! Sends the creases upwards but they've gotta go somewhere? 😁

Mummblebee · 18/12/2025 01:10

Get a gua sha. ( Asian beauty tool that’s been around hundreds of years )

Myotherdogsanoodle · 18/12/2025 01:38

Thanks for the replies!

Part of ageing, yes, I usually accept the signs but…..
Smiling is what I do a lot of, particularly on photos (it’s when I don’t that gravity sets in in a big way)
Surgery, I’ve reached the point I could even be up for that.
Gua sha I don’t believe make a any particular difference.

I’ve thought of collagen implants (?) but worried they’ll migrate somewhere and make things worse.

Face yoga - loads on you tube.

Good muscle tone and not too much fat on your face. The difference is not surgery, it's diet and exercise. Alcohol intake as well. Easy to spot a big drinker as you get older.

Agree with @CookingFatCat try Danielle Collins or Annelise Hagen @Myotherdogsanoodle

Ive bought one of those Lux red light face tool things as a friend had great results on her jowls. Early days for me though so can't tell you definitively that they work but the heat setting does feel lovely on cold days.....

I’ve been using a chewing gum called Jawliner. It’s a jaw workout, unbelievably hard to chew and makes you work. I’m seeing subtle improvement but it’s only been 2 weeks, so we’ll see how it goes. It won’t change bone structure of course, but it’s a good muscle workout for the jawline.

I'm off for a full face lift in Lithuania in May - I'm 63 so I'll let you know how I get on.

Myotherdogsanoodle · 20/12/2025 07:09

Thanks @Gettingbysomehow, hope that goes well for you!

Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll take a look. But I feel like I’ve left it too late now, it’s hard to build muscle at my age - unless facial muscles are easier to tone?
