Gym T-shirts

I need to find some new t-shirts for the gym, yoga and Pilates classes.

I’m after a long length t-shirt, I’m 177cm and have a long torso so I often find regular t-shirts a bit too short for exercising because they ride up when doing overhead presses or downward dog.
I’d be happy with either cotton or technical fabric; short sleeve; ideally black and possibly scoop next but not essential. Depending on the brand, I’m size 12 or 14. I’m happy to pay up to £20-25 for the right one.

The last set of t-shirts that I really liked for the gym were these from thinking of buying this from Next - Yours Curve Black Longline T-Shirts 2 Pack www.next.co.uk/style/SU401050/E83071 black longline t-shirts from Yours Clothing, but I recently lost a lot of weight and the smallest size that Yours do is now too big for me (gutted they don’t do my new size because I really love this style!) There are a lot of brands that I’ve avoided for years because they didn’t fit me, so I’m open to all!

I have the same problem. In the summer time, I wear Asda's George longline vest tops. In the winter, I often resort to wearing those under an ordinary t-shirt.

However, Matalan sometimes stocks longline sports t-shirts in their Souluxe range. (Basically, it seems to me that they rip off pay homage to Sweaty Betty designs.)

I sometimes wear my late husband's old t-shirts and sports tops - a bit longer in the body than women's. I can understand, though, if you don't fancy doing that.

I''ve lost 32 lbs, but I'm still a size 18. ETA Can get away with a 16.

Don't know whether either of these would suit...I wear a size L in Matalan Soluxe. ETA Was told by a sales girl that L is a size 16-18, so I imagine you'd be size M?

They won't be scoop neck but I'm tall and I like men's t shirts. I'm not fussed about close or feminine fit.

@WearyAuldWummanthose look brilliant, thank you! I’ll order some and see how they go.

My other thought was to go for longline tank top under a normal t-shirt, as more shops seem to do tanks than t-shirts, but hopefully the Matalan tees will do the trick 😊

I’ve considered men’s tees but I find that they still ride up or I feel annoyed by “extra” fabric around my torso when I’m doing downward dog etc.

I suppose if I have no luck with Matalan ones then I could look at a brand like GymShark that does tight fit tees for men. I could live without the scoop neck of the other boxes were ticked.

Sweaty Betty has an online sale at the moment, but the tops in the sale are a bit of a mixed bag - some are longer but some seem to be really short. (I got my pilates bottoms half price in their sale.)

Edited

Thanks for the tip 😊 I’ll have a look at Sweaty Betty - it’s one of those brands I’ve been avoiding for about 10 years that I now fit back in. I could also do with a new pair of leggings or joggers so I’ll see if there are any in the sale.

I also saw Bamboo Clothing have some tops that could be an option but they seem to be sold out in the darker colours. I’ll try the Matalan ones first though!

Following for the t-shirt suggestions - though I often wear band t-shirts to yoga... Bam have some great joggers/harems and had quite a few on sale (they do good long-sleeved tops).

I picked up a lululemon Swiftly t-shirt in the sales for £24. Even at the sale price it was right at the top of my budget (and full price is an extortionate £58! For one t-shirt!!) which is a massive shame as it’s just what I’ve been looking for - hip length, close fitting, not too high in the neckline. I’ve also got a couple of the Matalan t-shirts on order, I might not wear them for yoga as they are a looser fit round the waist/hips but I think they will be good for the gym.

I’ll update again if I find anything else that fits the bill. In the meantime, I’ll set up some alerts on eBay and scour Vinted to see if I can find any lululemon ones cheaply.

Have you looked at Decathlon, they are usually very affordable
