Hi,

im considering treating myself to a new primer and have always heard very good things about this. It’s more than I wanted to spend but if it’s that good I think it’ll be worth it. Might be worth noting I don’t wear foundation etc over primer so want it to be my face but better iyswim

Many thanks!

I’ve always been under the impression that a primer was used to provide a base for foundation.
Rightly or wrongly I don’t use one. I use a serum ( currently the Olay one) and follow it with Bobbi Brown’s extra illuminating moisture face balm which I love.
I received a sample years ago and it’s one product now I will never be without. I use it even when I’m putting on foundation, but on those days when I don’t bother with it gives my skin a healthy glow.

I love it. I'm mid 60s

I haven't used Bobbi Brown primer but I have this one and swear by it

I had a sample of BB face base and was really pleasantly surprised what a difference it made to my skin and make up but I couldn't quite justify the cost so tried this when it was on a good discount offer and it's bloody great - it makes my skin feel great and I do think it makes a difference to the look and longevity of my make up https://www.no7beauty.co.uk/p/pro-artist-runway-radiance-primer-45g/15804788/ I'm not a fan of No 7 skin care but I really rate their make up (much prefer Superdrug skin care - I think it punches well above it's weight in comparison with the luxe brands I used to get).

Boots regularly do 20% off all premium beauty so I never pay full price (don't use the face one but am currently using the eye version).

Thanks all, some excellent reviews and recommendations 😊. Will look at the others recommended and it’s good to hear from people who have actually tried it

Do you mean the Vitamin Enriched Face Base? @Jayne05

This is one of my favourites
I use with or without nake up , love the smell
It makes my skin look amazing.
Usually there are good offers this time of year

Ihatemondays1962 · 17/12/2025 18:18

I switched from the Bobbi Brown one to the Primark dupe as i was skint and find the Primark one almost as good

How long does it stay looking amazing though? I'm curious about these because I hate the feeling of foundation, any type.

But I'm thinking, if it's a moisturiser, it's going to sink and then the effect will disappear quite quickly?

Lifebeganat50 · 17/12/2025 18:26

I used to use it -I got out of the way of using it (not sure why!) as I found it really good. I’m not a foundation wearer, just some bronzer on top

loobylou10 · 17/12/2025 18:28

It’s the only product I ever rebuy! I LOVE it. Feels and smells lovely - like a whipped lemon cream.

Jayne05 · 18/12/2025 06:35

Lots of great reviews thank you, now just got to work up to paying £40 for a face cream 😂😬

My skin just looks much nicer when I use it, even when not wearing make up.
I use morning and evening and have done for years.
My make up lasts and looks better.
Its the only product I scrape every last drop out of.
I buy a duo around about now as BB has them on sale at £68 for 2 and that lasts me the year as I use a tiny amount .

I succumbed to the hype and bought it. It doesn't do anthing to improve the look of your skin beyond what any moisturiser does. It does give 'grip' for foundation to stay on longer. A sheer tinted moisturiser would give you the 'your skin but better' look, this base won't.

Fuckoffeasypeelers · 19/12/2025 10:19

I dont think anyone suggested it was tinted?

I've tried everything and always come back to this.
It gives me a nice finish whether wearing make up or not , difficult to explain but it makes my skin feel " finished" not dry/ not greasy just really smooth and glowy.
I really don't think its hyped, its a really excellent product and I've tried them all!

CT Magic cream was also good but BB just wins for me!

@Jayne05 if you want to try it before shelling out they sometimes do 15ml small samples.

Jayne05 · 19/12/2025 14:23

Thanks @Fuckoffeasypeelers thats a good idea about the samples.

It’s really good and better value as part of this kit www.boots.com/bobbi-brown-star-gift-10369891
