General Waifs and Strays Beauty Advent Calendar opening thread 2025 Part 2

This is part two of the 2025 thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads - though happy for those to be shared here too. I’m really enjoying hearing about all the different calendars being opened, including the Frankenstein and DIY ones.

As usual, many of us would really appreciate it if spoilers are not posted before 7am on the relevant day. Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

Posting pictures of contents is also always much appreciated.

100ml Nip + Fab salicylic acid toner in OK, and Glamour has two tools - an eyelash curler and a metal face roller (gua aha type thing). The roller does feel satisfyingly heavy and I will use both, but I'm not a fan of getting tools in a BAC.

Day 19:

Selfridges is a Charlotte Tilbury setting spray, as noted by @JoRaRaRa I don’t use these much, but I rate the CT setting powder, so will give this a try.

Jo Loves is the Balck Cashmeran and Tonka body cream to go with the shower gel from a few days ago. Still not sure about this scent. @AndeanFlamingo I think we have quite different preferences - I far prefer the lighter scents like yesterday’s White Rose and Lemon leaves to this.

@AprilLady We really must! I actually opened this one at the weekend (or rather I got DH to look through the calendar for it) as we're away this week and I wanted to bring the matching shower gel and body lotion to use. I'm not sure whether I would rebuy it but I do like it and it goes with the Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka perfume that I'm wearing right now.

Today’s F&M was a baobab Roma candle in a really pretty jar. L’AP was a 10ml Sables d’orient perfume, and Korres was a little night cream.

I’m enjoying the JL calendar apart from the perfumes, four so far and I dislike all of them.

StyleKorean Day 19 is an Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Capsule 100 Serum 30ml. I've loved the Anua products I've used before (oil and foam cleansers), so have high hopes for this!

Very disappointing door from Rituals today - I thought for one hopeful moment it was another spoon 😹 but no, it’s a plastic spatula with face mask powder. I had one of these before from Rituals and just gave it away - same will be done with this. I have neither the time, energy nor inclination to start mixing pastes!

Better effort from me today with my DIY a/c - Tocobo lip glaze. Excited to try this as I have heard lots about it.

I love the look of that candle. Does it smell nice (without lighting it)?

@@Seahorses12 Yes, it smells lovely, although not as strong as the Diptyque candles usually do.

Years ago I got a re-useable cotton bud in a Holland&Barrett calendar which you needed to faff about opening then it wasn't worth the aggro once it was

I like the look of the mask , that'll be a lazy day treatment .

I got glossy lip oil from too faced this morning in boots premium and it made me feel like a teenager 🤣 I loved it

Today in Diptyque there was a 7.5ml spray perfume in my favourite scent- Fleur de Peau😍

@Itsanewme it does last a while because you only need a tiny bit - I still have most of mine left from last years SNK advent. Think that was 30 ml, but still, that's a good few treatments.

I keep saying I’m not going to buy one next year but these are the ones I’d be tempted by too. My boots skincare has also been fantastic value although there are a few DOD.

Two Frgrances

When I picked this Calendar, I didn’t look at the contents on purpose and winged it, so I wasn’t expecting this.

I have heard good things about it but may give it to my DD

No7 beauty pulled a blinder today.....a completely empty (as in nothing inside at all) mascara tube!!!

Finally, I thought, some makeup.....but no 😭

My SNK today. I gave my friend the SDJ product from todays drawer so replaced with a travel size CH Good Girl and some cute Coach earrings I bought with my Harvey Nicks reward points in one of their sales.

Today in Diptyque is a softening hand wash- the second handwash I've had! I'm at the stage now where I don't mind, because I really love the candles and perfumes I've received so far.

It really is a lovely BAC @Seahorses12 I would love to get it one year although I think I'd still want a multi brand one too so that would be very pricey.

Boots premium is an Estée Lauder night cleansing gelee? Never heard.of it.

Day 20 of StyleKorean is a bit of DOD for me - vitamin supplements! "Natural ingredients will help to boost energy levels, contains antioxidants that will protect cells & combat damage caused by free radicals.
