If not wearing make up is there a benefit to using a cleanser rather than just a face wash?

They’re all basically the same, but you might want something with a bit of oomph if you’re wearing sunscreen

I don’t wear makeup but I do wear moisturiser, treatment creams and sunscreen, so I use a cream / balm cleanser (Pai Middlemist Seven is my absolute favourite, or Cetaphil if I have to get something from the supermarket) that goes onto dry skin and gets removed with a wet flannel.

If I wore makeup I’d probably double cleanse with either the same stuff or a non foaming oil for the first cleanse. The biggest improvement in my skin I’ve ever seen was when I went though a phase of regular double cleansing. I’ve never worn mascara but that’s the only thing I might remove separately.

Its quick and easy. I don’t like foaming face washes, ‘splashing’ water onto my face with my hands or messing about with cotton wool.

I do both. Lotion-style cleanser, rinse off, then facewash. I always wear make-up though.

I like a wash/cleansing balm Liz Earle, Elemis or the heating one by Pixi. Sometimes a cleansing scrub. Double cleanse.
