Keep seeing adverts on Facebook for il makiage. Is it actually any good for late 40s skin does anyone know please?

Ordered from them before but their process seems a bit dodgy. Love the foundation i purchased from them though.

Foundation is good when you get the right shade but the customer service is dreadful in my experience. I was on a recurring plan for monthly deliveries and the order and payment got messed up so many times that I cancelled in the end.

It’s all marketing ime. Not worth it, I stopped buying it.

Ladyoftheapple · 13/12/2025 22:01

I buy their concealer and it’s great

CatAsstrophe · 13/12/2025 22:05

I didn't like the foundation, or the make up brushes. The customer service wasn't great either. Too much hype/heavy marketing/pushy sales.

I'm currently using Vieve Skin Nova Complexion Balm. It's lovely.

I ordered a couple of years ago at 40c, it wasn’t nice foundation. It oxidised terribly and settled in every line and pore. It really wasn’t worth the money.

I’ve just bought dcypher foundation after seeing it all over social media. It’s possibly the best I’ve ever used. Perfect match, nice dewy finish. Stays put all day and not a heavy thick foundation but still has decent coverage

I bought a few of their products after seeing them recommended here. I liked the concealer but loathed their primer and foundation. Made my skin look really dull and tired. Ended up chucking both products and replacing with Erborian CC cream - much better finish and cheaper!

Tickingcrocodile · 14/12/2025 00:47

I bought the foundation. The colour was great but it looked awful on - much too thick and cakey.

Shadesofscarlett · 14/12/2025 00:51

very thick and cakey when i tried it - i returned for a refund

OldBeyondMyYears · 14/12/2025 00:59

I hated the foundation! Awful texture!! Gloopy and greasy feeling. Colour was very weird too…just awful! Was a royal pain in the arse to cancel the subscription but eventually managed it!

I also saw it (probably on TikTok) and ordered the foundation and concealer. I found it cakey and prone to oxidization. It also set in my creases. It might have been fine for much younger skin (I am late 40s).
I also saw Merit Beauty on TikTok or Facebook and ordered a range of products. All were bad - again heavy and cakey, not nearly as miraculous as the adverts claimed.
Return wasn't a problem as, in both cases, when I returned them it told me to keep the products and they would still refund the money. I am in the US though, so perhaps it's different.
I gave both sets to a friend's teenage daughter who likes make-up. I am not sure if she liked them or not, but they were definitely more suitable to younger skin.

See I am late 40's and like it. Good coverage the colour match is great and I wear it everyday.
