Looking for the perfect socks

This is a dull post but I am fed up of socks which fall down and ones which make my feet sore!

I have to wear a size up in smart flat boots as I have orthotic three-quarter insoles. As a result I need medium thick socks, which stay up, and have padded soles. My feet get sore from the insoles otherwise.

A couple of years ago I had some great M&S ribbed thermal socks but the new ones are thinner and fall down. Can anyone point me in the direction of the perfect pair. Budget no issue!

I find wool or bamboo to be much more comfortable than cotton, both in terms of staying in place and also keeping your feet cool/warm (rather than cold/sweaty).

BAM active socks! They really are the most comfortable socks I've found.

These are the ones I have but I also have their crew socks which are just as good and still padded on the bottom. I would imagine their walking socks are good too.

It may seem unlikely, but mountain warehouse merino wool hiking socks are amazing - the ones at the till. They're £10 but they always do random offers on them.
I wear them all the time now.
