Skin & Me

pecanpie101 · 05/12/2025 10:56

Has anyone used skin & me recently? If so, how have you found it?
Hoping to improve my skin texture and fine lines. I also suffer from adult acne so fingers crossed that will help clear it up.

I've just signed up and waiting for it to arrive!

The first time I used it for acne it helped a lot. I had a few months off using it and then when I tried again the second time it was useless.

pecanpie101 · 05/12/2025 10:57

My New Year's resolution is to improve my hair, skin and nails. If anyone wants to join me you can use my code for the first month discounted to £3.50 which is what I paid 🙂

Oh interesting. I wonder why it helped the first time but not the next?
Was it the same prescription or did they change the ingredients?

It was the same I think. I didn’t mind paying for something that worked but I was disappointed the second time and I did give it 6 months to see if it would settle.

Mariammaom · 05/12/2025 11:02

It’s ridiculously expensive when you look at the tiny amount of active ingredients you get each month.

Its much cheaper to buy a large tube of whatever actives you want.

Unfortunately they will charge £30 per month for 12ml Shock after this.

I cancelled my subscription and order tret from abroad - so much cheaper.

Their sister company Renew+Me are good. I find their formulas are gentler and more hydrating. I alternate between them and Monderma. It's the only micronised tretinoin I could find in the UK.

bodyofproof · 09/12/2025 00:06

i have been using it pretty much since they started and my skin has changed so much for the better with it

GrandHighVitch · 09/12/2025 00:10

I’ve been using it for almost 2 years and my skin looks great.

I don’t believe that either of these use micronised tretinoin.

The only one I’ve come across is the Obagi one.

Micronised tretinoin is indeed gentler as it is composed of microspheres of tretinoin that break open over time rather than all at once. As a result, there is less risk of irritation.

Are you sure Renew & me and Dermatica offer this?

Cotswoldmama · 09/12/2025 08:08

I love skin&me I've used it for 3 years. I find their customer service really good too.

OrangeWire · 09/12/2025 08:22

I’ve used Skin+Me for a year and my adult acne has completely gone. I get the comments about it being expensive but it’s literally the only thing I need apart from a cheap face wash and moisturiser.

scott2609 · 09/12/2025 08:33

I used it for 12 months for redness/ rosacea and to generally improve texture, but it had absolutely zero effect and I cancelled. Their customer service is great and they were really responsive to trying to new formulas when they could see that my skin just wasn’t improving, but we’d exhausted all options by the end. I think it’s a convenient way of trying ingredients to see what works, but it’s very expensive for what it is and you can definitely get the skincare (such a tret) individually much cheaper online, such as from Superdrug pharmacy

Breltrin · 09/12/2025 12:12

Hardly a bad thing?

ThisLuckyOpalShaker · 09/12/2025 12:17

I use it and i love it, massively improved my skin, i dont use tret as i find it too drying but use the 14% azelic acic and the 15% vitamin c. I have dry skin and use their moisturiser with spf 50 and its amazing, my skin is so nourished, def worth the money

Edited

Do you mind me asking where you order your tret from? I've been using Skin&Me, but like you say, it's expensive for not a lot

Mariammaom · 09/12/2025 15:08

@CosyBungalow there are lots of overseas pharmacies that sell it. Tretinoin is so cheap to produce that a large tube cost less than £5 to buy. Have a look at Alldaychemist for example.

And azelaic acid is even cheaper and readily available to buy in the UK

Skinandme are charging a fortune for the convenience - 12ml for £30 Shock

CosyBungalow · 09/12/2025 15:10

@Mariammaom ...thanks, I'll take a look

Horrendousfeeling · 09/12/2025 15:28

I've been using it for 10 months and it has massively improved my skin. I was about to resort to Botox and even though the deep wrinkles are here to stay, my skin is sooo much better and clearer of fine lines and pigmentation, that I look so much better and don't mind them anymore.

As a PP said , yes it is expensive but it means that I don't need any other product and the convenience is unmatched. I could never keep up a whole skincare routine, this is so easy.

Yes, Monderma's tretinoin is micronised. I see Obagi offers it too.
It seems to work faster than regular tretinoin.
