Even with a thick cotton long-sleeved top underneath I’m itching all over after half an hour (merino, cashmere, lambs wool, any of them) and by the end of the day am blotchy. Cotton all the way, for me. It’s been a pain recently but there are more cotton jumpers of late. I have some glorious Hobbs jumpers, a bit spendy but I reckon they’ll last a decade.

I have problems with wool. I had a jumper once that was only 10% wool and mostly cotton and I still found it unbearable. Merino is generally ok but merino jumpers tend to be very thin rather than thick and cosy. However this year I got a 100% lambswool jumper from Joules and it is absolutely fine, although I do wear a long sleeve T-shirt underneath.

I've tried jumpers with even the tiniest amount of wool and they still make me itch.

I have amassed a good collection of cotton jumpers now, but find cotton cardigans much more elusive. Recommendations welcome if anyone has found any!

I bought a 100% cashmere polo neck jumper by Jigsaw from eBay and it’s the softest, most blissful item of clothing I have ever worn, yet my Woolovers lambswool is terribly itchy.

Boden have a few nice cotton jumpers wouldn’t pay full price usually a discount codes available makes it a bit more affordable.

I find all wool itchy. I bought what I thought was a cotton Christmas jumper from a charity shop. It was actually acrylic, wool mix which I thought equalled out the scratch from the acrylic and the itchiness of the wool I was wrong, within minutes of putting it on I was itchy.

I don't really care what it's made of if it feels nice. Its soft and non itch. I can't wear wool

I know what you’re saying but natural fibres just don’t absorb smells the same way as man made - You hardly need to wash them. where as made needs washing very often.

My dp got me a lambswool cable-knit jumper from the jumper shop. It is nothing like the lambswool jumpers I’ve had in the past, this thing is hard and prickly so I emailed them for suggestions. They said wear a silk shirt underneath it until it softens. I don’t like shirts with a collar under a jumper.
The neck made me itch so much I was bleeding and I was out and couldn’t take it off.
It wasn’t cheap either.
Just remembered I bought a wool jumper in Romania my god I was convinced I had scabies after wearing it I’ve known nothing like it I got no sleep.

I saw a nice jumper in Next and was on the point of ordering it when I read that it had 5% wool. No use as I'd be itching with even that small amount.
