Middle-age make up help - winkles and acne 😩

Im in desperate need of a make up overhaul.
im 39, getting wrinkly(!) eyes and forehead and also still get spots every month before my period🫠
i moisturise with Nivea. Have always used Clinique foundation and concealer but recently they’ve just been caking in the creases and it looks awful. And my mascara always seems to end up everywhere my the end of the day. I’m doing something wrong!

any tips or suggested products please 🙏🙏🙏

I think makeup can make me look worse. I use a tiny dab of concealer and some mascara. I'm thinking of seeing a dermatologist about the bad skin and dark circles around my eyes.

From what I know about acne it's similar to an autoimmune condition. Have you tried topical steroids ? When I get spots I use an antibiotic cream and they are gone by the next day

@justkeepgoingpeople I don't rate Nivea. Too greasy.

Increase your water intake and look at hyaluronic acid and retinols for your skin.

Salicylic acid and Tretinoin cream for your acne (could it be hormonal?).

Unless your skin is really bad, you could switch to a BB cream and finishing powder? Just make sure you use a primer before your base. If mascara is coming off, change to tubing mascara instead.

It’s definitely hormonal and very annoying! Steroid I might give a try

Could you say more about these products, I’ve not heard of tubing mascara

There is a woman on Instagram called Erica Taylor and she talks a lot about mature skin and the products we need to use as our face naturally changes with age. Maybe take a look at her for some inspiration
She is a huge fan of IT cosmetics and I bought the concealer and foundation on her recommendation. I quite like them. She talks a lot about hydrating a moisturisers, primers etc suitable and offers a range of drug store and high end recommendations. She is my go to for make up advice
I also get loads of spots before my period and my go to is Duac cream, it's prescription only but I am also fond of trusty germolene xx
