Works leaving do- go karting

I need some ideas please.

In the next couple of weeks I'm going go- karting and immediately after going around the city for something to eat and drink.
There's only three women in the group going and I am considerably older than the other two( by nearly 40 years! 😆)
What the hell do I wear?
Main thing is I don't wear jeans. I want to blend in and I do want to look quite fashionable.
I know its a big ask but any ideas will be appreciated!

A onesie with a red bull logo on it? Sorry, couldn’t resist. What’s the most casual thing you’d be comfortable wearing outside the house? I’d probably go with that.

Ghostsghoulsteenagers · 01/12/2025 20:47

It’s going to need to squish under an overall and you’re going to be wearing a helmet , balaclava and gloves and will need flat shoes .. I would just go for comfort to be honest

Blackbookofsmiles1 · 01/12/2025 20:49

Wear what you would wear to the gym, leggings and a fitted top as you will have overalls to wear once there

NigelForage · 01/12/2025 20:49

Why no jeans

User415373 · 01/12/2025 20:51

You will have overalls over the top so just wear whatever, obviously dress or skirt not ideal! Jeans are fine, do you not want to wear jeans? Any other trousers will also be fine though! Wide leg trousers are in at the moment, nice shirt or top. Have fun!

Samethingtwice · 01/12/2025 21:54

You’re going to be in a full race suit, a balaclava and a helmet. Wear leggings and a top.

UpMyself · 02/12/2025 08:50

Do not wear gym gear. I'd wear jeans, trainers and a jumper. You won't be wearing overalls.

Samethingtwice · 02/12/2025 13:36

@UpMyself I’ve never been karting where they didn’t make us wear full body overalls. It’s probably worth the OP checking. Shoving wide leg jeans into a race suit is no one’s idea of a good time.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 02/12/2025 15:59

Always overalls here and grim shoes, unless it’s electric instead fuel. Fashion really doesn’t come in to it.

You can opt out as well - I did as didnt want to risk getting injured so close to Christmas

NigelForage · 02/12/2025 18:40

Oh, it just sounds dreadful. I think I'd have a cough that night.

notacooldad · 02/12/2025 20:49

Why no jeans
I dont wear them or own any.
If it was just the go karting , I'd be fine, its going into the city for food and drinks so close to Christmas afterwards, when everyone out will be glamoured up, thats the problem.

Im looking forward to it!
