Hi, I don't usually use Vinted, but my teenage dd has asked for a Ralph Lauren American Flag jumper for Christmas, and is aware I would not consider this worth paying the extortionate price for new so has suggested this.
I have had a look, and it appears to be a minefield. I want to make sure it's the genuine article (though personally dislike designer labels, I don't want to be ripped off) so would get one that includes the item verification option you can pay a bit extra for. There is one on there in the size and colour she wants, with this option, with labels - only it has been on for 4 weeks. Quite a few people have liked it, and the seller has 5 stars and all good reviews; I am just wondering why it has not sold, and if this is a red flag? It is a bit pricier than some, but has the tags and verification and still way cheaper than new. Any advice would be welcome!

4 weeks isn’t that long for something designer. Some people could be deliberating as they also don’t want to spend a lot and realise it’s a fake (Vinted verification isn’t great btw).
Others could be holding out til end of month payday. Others shopping around. Lots of reasons. Does the seller have a decent wardrobe of things on offer ie all good quality? This is the kind of thing I look for.
Is it brand new with labels or you mean the labels look legit?
If you want to dm me the link I can have a look?

Hi @Wanttobeanonhere88 thanks, that's helpful - though a bit stressed to hear the verification can't be entirely trusted either! The seller does seem to have a wardrobe of other high end brands for sale, and good reviews. I am just a bit suspicious of vinted! It also lists it as 'genuine' which paradoxically makes me worried it isn't! It might be as it is still priced relatively highly, but was thinking maybe should make an offer in that case (don't know if that is done thing either). I'm not sure how to link in a dm, I will have a look.

Go to the Vinted item and click on the 3 dots at the top of the page/image, click share, then copy. Then come here and click on the 3 dots at the top of my post, click PM and then paste the Vinted copy. Hope that makes sense.

Ok, thanks, that was helpful - realised I needed to be on the app rather than just the website! I have sent dm - thanks, really appreciate it.

If it's 60 pounds it's not going to be real.

If you compare the one on Vinted with one on the RL site here https://www.ralphlauren.co.uk/en/the-iconic-flag-jumper-638843.html?cgid=women-jumpers-cardigans#start=1&cgid=women-jumpers-cardigans I think that the jumper knitting is not the same and it doesn't look real RL. Could be wrong, but that's my view. I think for £60 it won't be real.

Hi, thanks, the one I was looking at was more than £60 but I did look at a lot and could see on some of them the stitched logo letters looked a bit dubious. I have managed to get a (relatively) good deal on a new one now - decided not brave enough for vinted and would probably be easily scammed!
