Marks and Spencer belts

If I have an 86cm waist should I buy a L or M belt? I cannot for the life of me work it out from their website! Thanks.

I looked at their sizing from Help section> product and brand info>what size am i?> women then scrolled down. In general and trousers sizing they measure waist 86 as Large.

I think you'd be a medium at most but you might even get away with a small. Can you get to a store to try some on or order multiple sizes and keep the best fit?

I am abroad so I cannot go to the store but I am finding it confusing because it says that that waist size would make me a size 16 but I am usually a size 12!

86cm is 34". You'd be a M from this, but M&S sizing can be very generous so you might find there's too much extra length.

I find the belt sizing really variable. Some of the mediums were too small for me & I'm a size 12 (with a definite tummy!).

That's a man's belt, I don't think a small would be 30-32 inches for a woman.

I bought a couple of belts since this post but panicked a bit and ordered them in two sizes. I ended up having to size down but think I would have preferred somewhere in between the two, there's a huge difference in how much "spare" there is, and in thebigger size I would have had to drill an extra hole, but in the smaller size there isn't much "spare" at all.
