General “Waifs and Strays” Beauty Advent Calendar opening thread.

As in previous years, this a thread for those opening Beauty Advent Calendars not covered by specific calendar opening threads - though happy for those to be shared here too. Also looking forward to hearing about the “Frankenstein” curations.

Carrying on the tradition from previous years, it will also be fun to hear about other calendar openings - Degusta, jam, cheese anyone?

I know there are mixed feelings on this, but many of us would really appreciate it if spoilers are not posted before 7am on the relevant day, though if the consensus is this is too late we could
make it from midnight on the day? Please also avoid dropping hints or spoilers about future contents if you have opened the calendar in advance.

Posting pictures of contents is also always much appreciated.

I’ll be opening the Selfrdiges and Jo Loves calendars this year. Really looking forward to tomorrow.

They ship to NI as well as Ireland.

Vogue today is a Nuxe dry oil 100ml, I use this and am loving the rollerball one in the recent boots showstopper
My DIY was a Medik8 Night Restire cream, this was in a recent CB edit
Degusta was a small Divine Orange chocolate

Another good day across the 3 calendars

Aah good to know, maybe I should have said they don’t ship to mainland UK! Sad about that as it looked like a fab BAC.

Smoked Brie in the cheese calendar, not totally convinced. Mask in the Korres one - fine in principle but I seem to collect them faster than I can possibly use them!

@CordeliaNaismithVorkosigan I did quite like the smoked brie, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it.

Lumene Day 6, eyeshadow primer.

African Gold Lelive Oil Elixir 30ml in today's LIB Stylist calendar. South African Brand that have not heard of.
Look forward to using later as just finished current night oil.

In Diptyque today I found 2 gold xmas decorations. They are flat but can be pressed out into 3D baubles. I like these and have added them to my gold themed tree.

Does anyone have the Fortnum and Mason calendar ?
I had it last year and I have been very lucky that my partner purchased it again for me this year but I’m starting to notice it’s almost the same contents as last year , the items are all very lovely but surely they wouldn’t repeat last years calendar ?!

@321Backintheroom I have F&M. Didn’t get it last year so can’t compare the contents , but I have had it in the past, maybe 3/4 years ago. I’m drawn to it because I love bath/shower/body care but the brands included never seem to vary. The contents (so far) seem to be slightly different products from the same brands I had in the past. The AA bath oil in just a different scent. A Delina product. Feels very repetitive and this will definitely be the last year that I indulge

Day 6 was another double drawer. Today it contained the Grown Alchemist exfoliant which I have and do like. It also contains the Laneige water bank moisturiser which I haven't used before. I'm interested to see whether this is a good one for under makeup.

Chantecaille Faux Cils longest lash mascara is today’s John Lewis offering - not used this one before but have liked other Chantecaille products

Laneige glow lip in berry. I put it on and it feels lovely - not sticky and v moisturising! I forgot to actually look in the mirror though 🤣

Philip Kingsley scalp serum today in CB. Never used a product like this before, so happy to give a try.

DD got a conditioner in Rituals- not madly exciting as she has short hair and so do I.

Celimax The Vita A Retinal Shot 30ml in StyleKorean today. Have to say, I'm loving this calendar and would definitely get it next year 😁

I do like the sound of the StyleKorean one!

It is lovely, has a great selection of products - skincare, hair stuff, make up, I'm really pleased with it so far!

Elle day 6 is a small Aveda hair conditioning product. Not hugely interesting but it will be used.
