Replacing very old bridge with implants?

I have a 30+ year old dental bridge due to a car accident when I was very young. It was performed brilliantly as it was complex, covering multiple teeth across the centre.

I feel it’s looking less natural as time passes and would prefer to change it when I can afford it and am healthy. My dentist said most would wait till it failed but I’m reluctant..

Has anyone replaced an older bridge with implants? How hard was it to- was bone density a problem? I only want to use a UK based doctor so recommendations also welcome.

I needed a graft to help with bone density. It needed a few months, then I could have the implants. For others they could be done from the beginning.

Bone graft isnt too bad but does add to the wait time for implants. Where are you ? My implant dentust was in south herts.

If you can get to this clinic please do they are excellent as are the prices. I drive 4 hours to go there from Somerset. They sort out the bone proble.s with bone injections or sinus lift. If possible get Bruno to do it.

Could you please message me? Anywhere around London (centre or north/west) and Herts works best for me and I’d love a recommendation.

This one is a bit far but it looks great! Some interesting information there.

From what you all say re bone density I think I’ve been overthinking this and have overlooked that the science has moved on in 30 years!

I investigated but I’d have needed bone grafts and they weren’t overly optimistic about the chance of long term success so I decided against. I’m 69 and my gums aren’t in the best of health so that was another factor.
